Check engine

John wrote this song that we all know as the massive hit by Glen Campbell.

Cold and windy today.

Summer got groomed yesterday. She looks so pretty with her hair all neat and orderly.

The "check engine" light came on in the truck Friday night. Hope it is nothing.

Off the the store for some supplies to make a cheap Pez display shelf.

Not painting it today as it is too cold. But the rest should be done as long as I do not get sidetracked.

R&R time

Off until the new year. Five days off to end 2012. Saving a couple days worked quite well.
No real plans except to visit Lowes and look for a belt sander and figure some pricing on paint.
Time to get the house completely repainted on the inside. Good winter project. I'd really like to redo the kitchen floor. It needs to be stripped and refinished since that would make the kitchen complete but that is not in the budget at all.

Might as well do some extra house cleaning and start the new year fresh.

That is it this morning.

Peace.

May your family have a peaceful and joyful Christmas.

Covered

This post is called  "Covered" since Bob Seger covered this song.

I actually should call today's post stolen. I was doing some simple google searches on some of my Flickr photo's last night and came up with several but there are two that really piss me off.

Look at this link. http://georgiamarijuanalaws.org/georgiamarijuanatrafficking.html

The picture of the police car is my picture and these lawyers actually have enough nerve to us it with no permission, , no compensation, no acknowledgement, no nothing. Then if you look at the bottom of the page they have a copyright notice. Nice.

Then here is one that really frosts my ass. Look at this link. http://www.jamienewsonsmith.co.uk/gallery/

The first picture of the soldier with the quote is my picture. Yes the soldier is my picture and this photographer has the f'in balls to put it on his site and sell it. Really dude. How can you claim this as your own work.

I will be contacting both of them to either take them down or send me compensation.

There were others used in generic blogs and I did not have to look hard to find those. I am sure a little more investigation would reveal more disturbing things.

Some bit of history

Neat little video for the Christ in Christmas crowd.

The gun nuts are out in full swing. This week the store will have one of its best weeks in 26 years. It would be the best if we had anything in stock.

Little fun video about Instagram.

Have a great Thursday amigos.

The reason

A little Gaither concert for the season.

Ventria is a company producing rice with human genes in it. Want some cannibal rice.
They will be producing 30 acres worth in Kansas this year.

Imagine

Imagine people actually tried to live this song.

Now we hear from many that we have to have
armed police in every school. If that is an acceptable answer we are doomed.

We hear talk of the culture of violence from our leaders yet we have killed many innocent children, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and grandparents in Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries in the war on terror. If all this death and destruction is acceptable to our government how can we expect them to be our leaders in this situation.

Maybe we need to stopped the drones and killing of human beings with guns and bombs because they were born someplace other than the United States. If this is the example we set for the rest of the world is it any surprise that these events are becoming a common occurrence here.

As we weep

As we weep as a nation today we need to look with ourselves for some real answers. The numbers above are so staggeringly disproportionate I find it hard to understand how anyone can look at those numbers and not be morally outraged.

The NRA will have you believe that if more people had guns and carried them there would be less gun violence. Lets tell the truth here. That is complete and utter garbage. To believe that is completely delusional.
They also like to cloak themselves with the flag and God. The flag issue really is a false flag argument. As for God I only ask this. Would Jesus Christ and his disciples have used guns to murder Judas or the Romans and Jews would who urged Pontius Pilate to hang Jesus. I think the answer to that question is no. Jesus was preaching peace and love. Go back and read your bible for what it is, not what you want it to be.

Why do we as a nation just accept the glorification of violence in our society?

How many Americans who are crying today even care that events like this go on in Iraq and Afghanistan on a regular basis with weapons or materials made by corporations based in the United States.

In the Mood

Time to start getting in the mood. First post of Christmas music this year.

Work is intensely busy. Crazy busy in fact.

Coldest morning this winter. 27 degrees. Going to be 50 today. nice tomorrow. Rain on Sunday.

Did you watch the 12-12-12 concert. Some good music. Some not so much.

Going to finish Christmas shopping tomorrow. Have not bought much and will not get much tomorrow.
No money as usual.

Have a fun Friday.

People

So Michigan is going to union bust now. Great way to let corporations pay workers less and let corporations make more money. They use the tactic that this will give more people jobs instead of keeping unemployment high. While there may be more jobs generated what good are these jobs when these jobs are not paying an actual living wage and do not raise the living standard or even maintain the living standard of the folks working these jobs. The reason more jobs are coming back to the U.S. is that we are becoming the low price wage leader. Why not come back when you can pay people less and have all the advantages of being able to produce in the United States. Capitalism at its best.

The day of reckoning will be ugly and brutal.

Weekend Crapup

Mostly broke and bored this weekend. Did a little Christmas shopping. Little is all I am doing this year.

Seems like my cd burner has crapped the bed. It knows a cd is there but that is it. Does not read it or even acknowledge. Does not recognize it in the system any more.  Now I have pictures I have to send to the cloud to save. About 14GB worth of shots. Not sure if I should replace it or get myself a laptop and let this computer die a slow death.

Warm all weekend. Hardly winter yet.

Who wants to wallpaper my dining room?

Jello for Breakfast

A little anger and truth for your morning pleasure. Nice crunchy little tune to get the blood flowing.

Good riddance Jim Demint, we hardly liked you.

I hope the earthquake off Japan turns out to be nothing.

Looks like fantastic weather again this weekend.

I am sick of hearing about the fiscal cliff. Fix the shit and shut the fuck up. Please.

Bagel for breakfast.

Only Wednesday?

A little Ritchie for your morning coffee. I'd like to catch this tour.

No time for anything else this morning. It is only Wednesday and the week seems slow.

Drone on

If a country we are at war with used drones over the U.S. would the U.S. consider that a legal act?
Did you know that the C.I.A. is using drones all over the middle east?
Did you know that the C.I.A. and the D.E.A. are acting as armed forces all over the world.
I guess to be kings of the world we have to kill people and bend them to do things our way or you become expendable.

Watch out, you are being watched by our own government. Are you the next drone attack?

Crazy mid 70's here yesterday. Seemed like spring.
The sky was a wild blue at sunset last night. It was amazing.

Time for toast.

Sunday Ramblings

How cool is it that this great music is being played at the White House.

Fuck you to the train conductor who insisted that he needed to blow his horn forever and ever and ever and ever at 5 a.m. this morning. Please derail yourself. Thank you.

So I went to a antique/art/salvage store yesterday to look for xmas gifts. Did not seeanything I could afford for gifts. I did see an old easel for $9. I bring it up to the counter and when she rings it up the price is $29.
Sorry for the mistake sir. Do you still want it? Ummm. Not for $29. I leave empty handed.

I went to a used bookstore yesterday. All used books .99 all the time. Sale now 3 for .99. I bought a book by Michael Chabon. Kavalier and Clay, it won a Pulitzer. Then two photography books. One of events from the 1950's and one of pictures from Paris. Good deal.

Watched a documetary this morning, after the train woke me up, called "The Last Days". Very interesting story about the lead singer of an early metal band called "Pentagram". It is about drugs and hopefully some redemption.

Beware of this legislation.

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/12/01/gop-backed-bill-is-most-serious-attack-on-americas-wilderness-act-in-history/

Always good to read.

http://therealbillmaher.blogspot.com/

ribbon going on the house this morning. Then some leaf blowing, shower, fold laundry, glue army men to my mailbox and Christmas shopping.

Enjoy your day. In the 60's here today.

If I was a flower growing wild and free
All I'd want is you to be my sweet honey bee.
And if I was a tree growing tall and green
All I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves

If I was a flower growing wild and free
All I'd want is you to be my sweet honey bee.
And if I was a tree growing tall and green
All I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves

All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like a sea.

If you were a river in the mountains tall,
The rumble of your water would be my call.
If you were the winter, I know I'd be the snow
Just as long as you were with me, let the cold winds blow

All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like a sea.

If you were a wink, I'd be a nod
If you were a seed, well I'd be a pod.
If you were the floor, I'd wanna be the rug
And if you were a kiss, I know I'd be a hug

All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like a sea.

If you were the wood, I'd be the fire.
If you were the love, I'd be the desire.
If you were a castle, I'd be your moat,
And if you were an ocean, I'd learn to float.

All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like a sea.

Went to West Jefferson on Saturday. Got some decent pictures. It was rather cold and windy. Temp was about thirty eight. Lots of people out and about. This area of NC is the that grows lots of X-mas trees and there were lots of folks coming off  the mountain with trees tied to their vehicles.

Back to the grind in the morning. Ugh.

Friday, November 23, 2012

Happy Black Friday

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Nothing special here this year.

Are you going shopping today, or maybe you already did.

Think I'll go grocery stopping today and do some local store X-mas shopping.

Tomorrow is picture taking day.

Marwencol

I watched the documentary "Marwencol" yesterday. Very fascinating story. The photography is amazing. We can all do art is we set our minds to it.

When is the U.S. and the rest of the world going to stop giving Israel as pass on keeping the Palestinians hostages, prisoners, slaves in their own lands. That is the reason the keep sending missiles into Israel. They are being held captive. What would you do?

Nice win by the Bucs yesterday.

The Sport Trac is for sale, $4500.00. In the yard  with a sign on it, Craigslist tomorrow.

Nice short week. We are open Friday. I will not participate in that task.

I need some pumpkin pie with whipped cream.

Dear Red States

So we have all the red states, mostly the southern white states, wanting to secede. Well I say do it.
Don't go away mad, just go away. I am sure so many of you can succeed on your own as your own little white state of hate. The unraveling of America continues.

Europe has protests in most of its countries yesterday and I think they will get much more violent as people has less and less money. In Spain, with 25% unemployment, many as defaulting on their mortgages. In Spain if you default you still have to pay off the bank and you lose your home.

Israel seems to want a war. Can you really expect any Palestinians to accept the fact they are being kept prisoners in their own land. Maybe that is why they send rockets into Israel every day.

One day closer to the weekend. Hooray.

Carmax says $2000 for my truck. Think I'll Craigslist it instead for $4500.00.

Shake

Now this woman can sing. Holy crap. You can feel the music in her voice. A rare voice these days.

Got my wrist slapped yesterday at work for running my mouth. Ooops.

Summer is back on her meds again for her cough. Seems like it my be a permanent thing.

The Generals and the Ladies trading emails is such fun to watch. Better watch your emails cause someone else is.

May head out to the beach next week for a night. Summer will be coming.

Rainy Days

A lot of leaves should be coming down today since we are going to get some rain on and off all day.

I lost my checkbook in my house

Been watching Weeds on Netflix via Roku.. Catching up on two years worth of the show.

Marijuana is going to be legal in more places very soon.

The NY/NJ area that got hit in Sandy seems to be suffering from our poor infrastructure. If we don't fix it soon, big trouble is coming.

Work is very busy.

College hoops has started.

Time for toast.

Monday, November 12, 2012

My legs are sore

Great song. Very well written lyrics.

Did lots of yard work Saturday and a little on Sunday. Cleaning out more trees and brush so I can get some grass growing.

Seems mama cat has abandoned one of the kittens to my house. The kitten is here a lot of the time and meows all the time. I have been able to pick it up a few times and while it is scared there is also a whole bunch of purring. Summer is not amused in any way at all.

Got some good pictures of Jesus saves signs yesterday morning.

Going to see if Carmax will give me a good price for the Sport Trac this week.

Have to catch up on blogs and such. Only spent a few minutes on the web this weekend.

Watched a couple good documentaries this weekend. One was about Charles and Ray Eames and one called Forks over Knives.

Have a Monday.

Friday, November 9, 2012

It must be Friday

Looks like it will be a very nice weather weekend. Upper 60's to low 70's. Time to be outside.
I think a little roadtrip is in order tomorrow. Leaves on Sunday.

Good thing Florida is on the leading edge of technology and have figured out who won the election there.

Here is a great tumblr about white people.

http://whitepeoplemourningromney.tumblr.com/

Think big Brother will not be in your home.

http://www.kotaku.com.au/2012/11/this-kinect-patent-is-terrifying-wants-to-charge-you-for-license-violation/

Gun and ammo sales are going crazy since Tuesday night. Paranoid white people. We are on the verge of a breakdown.

Barack n Roll lets get stoned

Barack wins. Weed is legal in Colorado and Washington State. Elizabeth Warrens wins and Tammy Baldwin, the first openly gay senator, wins. Nice day for America. Onward with progressive ideology. Now we can stop the drones. :)

Vote

They decide, we vote.

Monday, November 5, 2012

The countdown is on

Great song by Rodney Crowell. The Dead do an excellent cover of this song.

Less than 24 hours before the election and of course Florida has already had huge problems in its early voting since they cut early voting from 14 days to eight days. Lawsuits have already begun. Should be  interesting since polls show it to be a close election. At this point it looks like my vote is headed to Obama as polls here show things getting close. It should be going to Jill Stein. Dammit.

Not going through the refinance process. Did not like the vibe I was getting on the value of the house and I think I would have been turned down. not really a concern since I think rates are going no place since homes still are not really selling.

Raked and used the leaf blower for 4 hours Saturday and moved lots of leafs. Still lots on the trees and lots to move, maybe.

Fill out your ballot and bring it with you if you have a large ballot.

Thursday, November 1, 2012

Hump plus one

Enjoy a little Duane for breakfast tuneage.

The election is five days away and is still very close. Still not sure what to do with my vote Obama or Stein.
Romney leads by 4 to 6 points and Stein is not on the ballot.

The cats are still hanging around. I did manage to pick up on of the kittens. She freaked out. The others are still skittish.

Nice to see gas prices going down. Means I drive the new truck to work a little more.

Toast time.

Neat

There's No Place Like Here: Liberty Tool from Etsy on Vimeo.

Here is a pretty neat place. You can pick up tools at a pretty good price at yard sales.

Wow did New Jersey ever get hammered. How many years before these places ever get back to any sense of normalcy? The Jersey shore is New Jersey.

I am going to build a display for all my Pez dispensers. They need to get back out on display for all to see.

Here is a wall made from pallet slats. I'd like this in my house.
Here is the Pez display.

I'm out. Have a good day.

Sandy

Well Sandy's wrath is yet unknown as of this writing but the devastation seems to be wide and massive.
Daylight will bring a harsh reality to many fellow Americans today. Peace my brothers.

Hippy Sunday

Spend your lovely Sunday with some sumptuous grooves.

Sunday in Autumn

A little sun, golden leaves getting tossed about in the autumn breeze
The kittens climbing the tree playing on my roof, Summer barking madly
Wind tossing my hair about, windows rolled down, chill touching my arms
Ghosts and goblins, pumpkins and candy corn are the season
Country fairs are done, hibernation in the air

Republicans are dumb

Yesterday Trump offered the President $5 million dollars if he gave his high school and college records to Trump by October 31st. This is Stephen Colbert's response. Absolutely hilarious.

It is amazing how old Republican white men do not understand rape. This is because of their belief in their God. I think their God must be shaking his head at their collective ignorance.

As Ken said yesterday folks like me are in a dilema about our votes. Is NC going to be so close that a vote for a third party could swing the election to Romney. This vote really needs serious thought.

Looks like my parents are not coming for Thanksgiving now. Maybe I'll head towards the the Outer Banks for a night.

Monday, October 22, 2012

Russell Means, a real hero.

We owe them everything we took from them. We can start with some respect.

Wounded Knee 1973 is one of the first real world events I remember vividly seeing on tv as a kid.
I would have been 9 years when this started.

I never forgot, you shouldn't either.

It begins again

Looking like the election is going to be very close. Frightening how many people are buying the vast nothingness that is Mitt Romney. Talk about being doomed.

Debate or American pickers tonight. Hmmm. What should I watch?

Outside of taking Summer for a ride yesterday I did nothing. Saving money for the refinance if it goes through.

Looks like my parents are not coming down for Thanksgiving this.

Time for some toast for breakfast.

Have a nice day.

Sunday, October 21, 2012

Sunday musings

Nice little bluegrass tune.

Nice day yesterday. Lovely weather.

Put up some shelving in the guest shed. Next for the shed is some hooks for my bikes and that gives valuable floor space.

Started stripping a little side table I bought some weeks ago. It is painted white with green drawers. The top has a least three layers of paint and the original stain. Not easy to get the paint off and down to the bare wood. Going to stain it and polyurethane it. This may be something I keep instead of sell at the shop.

Going to take Summer for a little ride into the hills today so she can see the leaves in the mountains.

This just in..............

George McGovern has passed away. The man who could have really changed the way America did politics.
Americans bought into fear and war with their vote for Nixon. It is a shame. We still have not learned a thing.
Goodbye George some of us still believe the things you wanted are still possible.

Orion

This is Jimmy Ellis. He had a career as a country singer and also as a guy named Orion who was an Elvis impersonator. He played with a mask on his face after Elvis died and many thought he was Elvis. Check his story out.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_%22Orion%22_Ellis

Have you checked out Rocky Anderson, running for President under the Justice Party label, you may want to. He has some pretty good ideas. Another third party candidate who deserves more recognition.

Have a lovely day earthlings.

Free the debates

This is what a police state looks like.

So this is how we treat third party candidates who are on enough ballots to actually win the election.
If you are enough ballots to actually win the election you should be the debates, it really is that simple.

So much for freedom.

We get get what we vote for and it seems like it is not much, unless you are a corporation.

Monday Monday

Never been to Spain is one of my favorite songs. Love the GFR version.

Went to Asheville and up to the parkway on Friday. Weather was perfect. Stopped in at an art and antique shop and bought a picture. It is a great piece of photography. Trying to find some more about the photographer. More when I find out something. While talking with the woman who owned the shop I told I do some photography and told her about my website. She looked at it and wants me to bring her some photos to sell.

The leaves were all over the place as far as colors were concerned. Down low they had minimal change and up high they were all ready brown. So Mt. Mitchell and Craggy Gardens were past peak. Another week at best for the lower mountains for peak at best for the Asheville area. I also saw a fox.

Went to a couple auctions in town Saturday. Bought nothing at one and bought a box of old plates, coffee cups, and Pyrex pie plates for $7.00 and a dozen old frames for $2.50.

Sunday I reorganized the guest house and that was about it.

This is the future. Big Brother knows who we are. Thanks to mother Jones.

Ash Friday

Yea, I know i posted this already. Did not want you to forget it.

Off today. Heading to Asheville for the day. Weather is about perfect. Take a little trip of downtown, then head out to the hills for picture taking. The leaves should be great. A nice three day weekend. I upload some pics from my phone for your viewing pleasure.

Well Biden was taking no prisoners last night. He was certainly confident in what he was saying.

Peace mi amigos.

Meow

So yesterday when I came home I let Summer out after she had something to eat. I came over and was sitting at the computer and Summer would not stop barking. I went outside and saw her barking at a kitten.
The kitten took off and Summer stopped barking. Came back in, sat down, and Summer started again. I went back out and looked in the gazebo and there was the kitten along with three other kittens all just staring at me. They are very young and very skittish. Mom was hanging around a little but not much. I gave them some milk and some soft dog treats. They loved both. They are still here this morning. They were all sleeping together in a big pile. So cute. Maybe I just gained four kittens for a little while. We shall see if they are here when i get home. I'll pick up some food today in case they are here.

I maybe refinancing my mortgage. looks like I can drop the payment $100 a month. I could use the cash in my pocket. Buying the truck has hurt my wallet just a little.

Peace out.

Fight the Power

Well it was nice to see Mitt give his major foreign policy speech yesterday. It means get ready for war. This dumb son of a bitch will have us fighting all over the world. Yea, that is what we want. Just kill them and they will fall into place and become our friends.

If you are paying attention you should be afraid of this man.

Finally. Starting to get his due.

Fall

Fall came for sure this weekend. Saturday was almost perfect. Then the rains came Saturday night and there was rain in the morning yesterday. No sun and highs in the low 50's.

I did get the hot water fixed Saturday, at least for now. Seems the lines had a lot of junk in it. Rust and maybe a piece of a washer. It is working and that is all that matters for now.

Mumford and Sons are an English band and they just released their second album. It is the fastest selling album of 2012. Just a little bit of a bluegrass, rock and folk mixture here.

Happy Monday.

Friday

These guys were my favorite band  for many years. There are very few quality videos of them out there. They rocked out in a great boogie style. Check out the songs Magnolia, Hello from Venus and Shakin the blues.

Yea, its Friday. Long long week.

Thursday, October 4, 2012

Just awful

The Avett Brothers doing some fine pickin' and a singin'. They are a great American band.

What the hell was that last night Mr President. That was an awful performance you turned in last night.
You had so many chances to attack and pounce on Mitt and you failed totally. Was there a moderator?
Like I have said before. He has no balls. If a third party candidate had been in the debate we would have seen someone with real and new ideas.

Where is Friday?

Wednesday, October 3, 2012

Debate This, Bitch

A very cool band.

So tonight on Democracy Now! they are having Jill Stein, Green Party, and Rocky Anderson, Justice Party, answering questions asked during the debate real time.

There is also going to  be a third party debate later this month.

Third Party candidates should be allowed to be in the debates.

There should be national laws regarding ballot access and not these insane rules imposed state by state.

There should also be a national law on voting rules and not crazy laws imposed by zealots from any party that impose restrictions to gain an advantage over another party.

We are not really free to choose who we want to lead.

Democracy Now! is a Roku channel.

Rainy day, dream away

More rain today. Lots of rain lately.

Time to start thinking about Christmas presents. Want to start that process now before the insanity sets in.

Have three personal days left to take off before the year ends. Think I may take Friday off next week and enjoy a three day weekend and go out leaf  looking off to the west. I would like to head over towards Franklin and Cherokee. Have not been over in that area in some time.

Are you going to watch the debate tomorrow night?

Going to start and see what jobs are out there. Have been looking a little but want to actively look and see what is out there. Would even move if the right thing was around.

Time for breakfast.

Monday, October 1, 2012

Rain

The band here is Ike Turner's band. Although he is known by most for beating Tina Turner he really is a great musician who had a whole bunch to do with the beginning of rock n roll and often did not credit for his playing until many years after the record was released. This is a cool song.

No flea market or yard sales Saturday. Rain on and off and I did not really feel like going out and dealing with that all day. Yesterday was much better and I just did some house cleaning, dog combing and grocery shopping.

I think I am heading to the mountains this coming weekend for the leaves. I think the next two weeks will be the key weekends this year as some leaves are turning here already and that is much earlier than last year.

Wow October first already. Crazy.

I want to go to a country fair this year.

Happy monday.

Roku you

When I was young I was the nicest guy I knew
I thought I was the chosen one
But time went by and I found out a thing or two
My shine wore off as time wore on
I thought that I was living out the perfect life
But in the lonely hours when the truth begins to bite
I thought about the times when I turned my back & stalled

I ain't no nice guy after all

When I was young I was the only game in town
I thought I had it down for sure,
But time went by and I was lost in what I found
The reasons blurred, the way unsure
I thought that I was living life the only way
But as I saw that life was more than day to day
I turned around, I read the writing on the wall

I ain't no nice guy after all
I ain't no nice guy after all

In all the years you spend between your birth and death
You find there's lots of times you should have saved your breath
It comes as quite a shock when that trip leads to fall

So I have the Roku XS and I like it. My favorite things, Pandora is now through my stereo, streaming Netflix, the video quality is much better than watching on a dvd, watching The Daily Show and The Colbert Report for breakfast, The Internet Archive, they have lots and lots of great live music and other very cool content and many other cool channels. The only bummer is that getting live tv is has only fair video quality at best.

So I dumped most of my cable. I kept the most basic cable at $11.00 a month and bumped up by internet speed to 30 mbps. My cable/internet bill went from $150.00 a month to $67.00 a month.

Now I can stream a bunch of my Netflix and my list of pending rentals will go done quickly. I have 52 now and a quarter of those I can stream.

Hope your world is good.

The hump is here

Remember these guys from the golden days of metal.......................

So Summer's latest thing is she noe does not want to come in at night and wants to give me a problem about coming in. Where did this come from?

The NFL is the perfect example of greed. Get the refs back in, morons.

Where to take pictures this weekend. Have any tips?

Should I sell the Sport Trac?

Tuesday Style

This is the most popular video ever on youtube from what I understand.  Have to admit it is a little catchy.

Really got nothing else this morning. Enjoy the song and get dancing.

Monday, September 24, 2012

Brrr

Enjoy the man called Dali.

Very good weekend.

Was out cutting more trees down Saturday morning. It has opened up the left side of the house/yard a whole bunch.. Looks much better. Lots of brush for the town to pick up this morning.

Street fest during the day Saturday and went to O.A.R. Saturday night. A free show with lots and lots of people and very very long beer lines.

Yesterday I took a little trip to Henry River Village. It is and old abandoned "town" with about 20 homes and an old store. This was used in the movie "The Hunger Games". While I was there a lot of other folks were there also checking out the abandoned homes. They are in poor shape and almost to the point of not being able to be rescued. They all had outhouses, but they did have electricity. Vandals have also  done there part.
One guy owns all the property and has it for sale.

Here is a little video clip.

.

It is a pretty nice area and would be cool to own, renovate the homes and have a store and restaurant in the old store or make it a house.

Found an old rusty Falfstaff 1776 -1976 beer can and an old coke bottle. They came home with. Did not think they would miss these items.

Think I'll go back when the leaves start to change and get more pictures.

Have a Monday.

Friday musings

Did you know that we rank 29th in internet speed?

The average $150.00 cable/phone bill in the U.S. costs only $38.00 in Japan.

In 19 states major corporations actually get to keep the payroll tax that their employees pay for 25 years. In other words your payroll tax are financing their expansion instead of them expanding using their own dollars and the dollars of their investors.

That Mitt is a twit and you should vote for Jill Stein.

That i need to take a shower now because i am running way late this morning.

Trees

I used my trusty little reciprocating saw last night and removed 5 small trees from my yard. I have a little more to do tonight and then I'll have to hold off until after the town removes my brush. Do not want to give them too much. They frown on that quite a bit. Welcome sunlight, goodbye skeeters.

This is one of those work weeks that seems never ending. Uugh.

Going to a little street fest with "World Can't Wait" Saturday to sell some bumper stickers. Good music, art and pissing off the right.wing nutbags.

Mountains on Sunday?

The new season of Survivor started last night. Yea.

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Wow

Might be a good thing to start every day listening to this song.

Now confirmed, Mitt Romney is an ill informed fool. His true feelings have been exposed far all doubters to see.

Vote the green party.

Get the hell out of Afghanistan. The soldiers we trained are using those skills to now kill Nato soldiers everyday. Get them out today, not two years from today. Put the pressure on Obama and make him get them home now. Truly sickening. How many more have to die before we, as a people, say enough?

Super humid this morning. Big storms today is what they are saying.

Time for toast.

Review

Saturday was decent. Picked up a couple pieces of furniture at and a very old artificial leg at a yard sale.
Yesterday the weather was crappy and i got up a 8:45. Could have slept a few more hours.

Slept like crap last night.

I told my parents to kick my nephew out of the house. He is such an ass.

Got a run. Sorry.

Friday, September 14, 2012

Uh, really

So this is the video that is causing all the trouble that is going down in the middle east. Really I fail to understand any of this. Of course 99% of the people who are protesting have never seen this horrible and pathetic attempt at making a movie.

The movie and the protests are perfect examples of the ignorance of man and religion.

They all need to go out get an education and hopefully they stop having children so they so stop spreading the seed of ignorance.

Yeah, its Friday. Tag sales, tree cutting and maybe a little roadtrip this weekend.

Enjoy my friends.

Getting in the swing

Picture taken at the PEZ museum with my phone.

Not sure of the whole story but it seems we have some big trouble in the middle east and big mouth Netanyahu runs his mouth again. Makes me wonder why we keep giving them  millions of dollars every year.

Hopefully will have the booth at the antique shop up and running in a couple weeks.Got lots of neat stuff while I was home. Between what Autumn and i have we should do well. I am going to price my stuff pretty aggressive. I want sales, not dust collecting items in the booth.

Tree cutting down this weekend. With the weather getting super nice it is time for some yard work. Remove some trees for more sunlight and hopefully getting rid of some skeeters. I think i want the little back yard to be a pepper garden next spring.

Romney is an idiot.

Vote the Green Party.

I'm back

The best Steppenwolf song.

Vacation was very good. It is a fairly long drive. 14 hours on the way up and 13 on the way back. Several stops for Summer and I to relieve ourselves, get gas and a snack.

The weather was brutally humid all week long and a lot of rain Tuesday and Wednesday. Had lots of seafood including lobster, fried clams, clam chowder, and mussels.

Went to the PEZ factory, where they make the candy and bag the dispensers, to check out the little museum they have. It was very cool and they had lots of neat things including  things I did not know about. My parents were amazed at how many dispensers there were. I bought a new item they are coming out with. They are making a set with the Presidents. They will be releasing four at a time. The likeness is very good on these. They will also be releasing a KISS set. It was a cool little museum.

Summer was very confused for the first few days. Way out of her element.

The new truck was great.

Gotta run, more this week.

Lovely weather. Peace.

Thursday, August 30, 2012

goin' down the road

Well I am feeling good. I am on vacation and will be heading north with the Summer as my co-pilot.

No real plans overall except to do nothing that requires any stress. Sleep late and take Summer to the beach, eat some lobster and fried clams, steamers, mussels and have some birch beer soda.

The trip will give me a good idea how well the truck is going to do as my prime vehicle when it gets to that point. Hopefully gas will be cheaper by then.

Mitt and Paul are such a great team. I am so excited by their love of small government. What a joke. Ryan's plan to balance the budget will not make that happen until 2040. Really that's not even a plan.

They suck.

Obama not really any better.

Green Party all the way.............................

just got lucky

Love the huge crowd just boppin around. Nice little tasty jam by Trey

Holy crap did I just get lucky. I was cooking some stuffed clams in the toaster oven and it had been cooking for a while and I went to check on it when I looked at the top of the oven my cell phone was sitting on top of the oven. I took it off and it was super super hot. I took it off and left it sitting until it cooled. Had to take the back off, remove the battery and let that sit. When I put it back in the phone came back on after a long time.
Good thing I did not want a cell phone for dinner.

It's official, Mittens Romney is now the Republicans candidate for Pezident. Oh the joy I feel.

Time to watch the Daily Show. Have a great night.

Counting down

Seems New Orleans may get hit with Issac almost seven years to the day that Katrina hit.

Countdown is on for vacation. Woo Hoo.

Gonna watch the Repubs Convention this week. Hopefully you do not so you are spared from listening to the crap the spew.

Did not do much yesterday  and it was quite good.

Time for breakfast.

Sunday, August 26, 2012

Major Neil

Watching Neil walk on the moon is the first event I remember watching on tv. We were on vacation in Maine staying at a cottage with my parents and grandparents.

Found a couple neat things at yards sales yesterday. Nothing expensive at all. Slowly building inventory.

Refinished the vanity. The mirror is next, then the dresser. Think I'll redo the bench. Do not like the way it came out. Too dark.

Weather has been perfect this weekend. Summer was outside all day yesterday. She loves this weather and it gives her a spring in her step. She should love the weather in Ct. I think I am going to take to the beach and she if she will go swimming in Long Island Sound.

Going out to enjoy the day.

Have a great one folks.

Repair

Bummer I will miss Roger on this tour.

The roofer is coming this morning at 7 to see where the leak is a give me and estimate on getting it fixed.
Hopefully a fairly cheap repair

Gave Summer Capstar, a flea killing pill, last night and the stuff starts working within 30 minutes. Amazing.
She was almost scratch free last night. Hopefully she gets groomed this weekend.

Vacation is around the corner. Oh yeah.

Have a day.

Happy Motoring

Been a few years since a wrench was turned here.

Thank you Republicans for showing your true colors.

Still have lots of peppers coming in. Gotta love it.

Why are we still in Afghanistan? Average age old soldier killed, 26 years.

Todays Ramble

Many years ago I bought this pastel at a thrift store for $10.00 because I like the work a heck of a lot.
It is signed by  Jean Appleton and dated 1957.

I found there was a famous Australian painter by the same name. After many years of digging I found a picture of painting with her signature and they were the same. I never found any of her work that was anything like this, until yesterday.

I found this work on ebay and they are definitely the same artist.

 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jean-Appleton-LISTED-modern-Australia-Australian-art-vintage-painting-luminous-/310327254369

What do you think?

Hopefully Summer will be going to the groomers this weekend. Fleas and all. Actually hopefully the fleas will dead. I found out about Capstar. It kills the live fleas. Then I need to de-flea the house.

Out.

Monday, August 20, 2012

It's Monday

It was a nice three day weekend. I like three day weekends. Man, I wish there were more of them. Lots more.

Refinished a nightstand and bench on Saturday.. The nightstand came out excellent. The bench looks a little dark. Maybe I'll redo that. Depending on weather I will redo the drawers on the dresser and on the stand the other stand.

Friday and Saturday were lovely. Yesterday we had  lots of rain. Torrential rains overnight Saturday. Temps a lot cooler.

Autumn and I are gathering up goods to put in the antique shop. We will be getting a booth fairly soon.
The name of the business will be "Roadtrip Relics".

Wow have gas prices gone crazy. We will be pushing 4 dollars a gallon very soon. How crazy is the price fluctuation? Think that will hurt Obama's chances?

Back to the grind.

Vacation coming soon.

Happy Birthday Charles Bukowshi

My favorite poet.

This is the beginning of a very scary chapter in world history.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/aug/15/new-totalitarianism-surveillance-technology

More of big brother. It is a long worthy read.
http://www.surfthechannel.com/

We are becoming less free everyday and we can do nothing about it.

Time marches on and I am taking a cold shower after having some toast.

Off tomorrow. Yea.

Sleep

I think a plumber is in order.

My stomach is growling this morning. Breakfast is coming shortly.

Trying to get rid of Summer's flea's has been quite the challenge. Nothing really works that well. They need to be gone before I go to CT.

Later.

Monday, August 13, 2012

Watch out

I guess with Paul Ryan the Repubs are going hardcore.

I do not have hot water in my shower but have it everywhere else in the house. Think there is a problem in faucet. Have to fix that tonite.

Crappy weather Saturday, lovely yesterday.

I think we will see the beginning of the fall season any day now.

I may take this Friday off if I can get enough work down early this week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Time for breakfast. Have a Monday.

Friday, August 10, 2012

Four 4 Friday

Rock out it's Friday and time to let your rock roll.

Rain, thunder and lighting. It's the weekend who cares.

Yard sales , auction, grocery store, jeans. That's the plan.

Peace out.

Thursday, August 9, 2012

good morning

The guys would be fun to see.

Foggy here this morning. Some areas around here got hammered with rain yesterday.

What the hell is the deal with gas prices? Now of $3.60 a gallon. Was around  $3.00 a gallon just a couple weeks ago. Makes no sense.

School starts in places in NC today. Seems way too early for that.

Randy Travis busted for DWI, again.

The Green Party is now on most ballots across the U.S. Write-in in North Carolina.

Have a good day.

Slow

Nice and cheesey pop song.

Computer is slow this morning.

Not sure why my comment did not appear om Monday's post. Blogger problems I guess.

Work has been a bitch this week. Super busy.

Autumn and I may split a booth at the antique mall down the street.

Sorry time to run. Things to do this morning.

Monday, August 6, 2012

It's over

As you know I have a new vehicle. It goes along quite well and rides quite nice. Now i have to figure out all the little doodads such a the trip mileage and miles per gallon features. I have set up the memory seat and have already used the cruise control. That is one feature i wanted and it is a nice thing to have.

Autumn was here for the weekend. We went out to dinner Friday night and went to some gallery's at the First Friday event in downtown Greensboro. Saturday went went to a couple yard sales and then went to Clines Antiques down near Salisbury. The place is very large and very odd. Google it and you will get the idea. I have a few pictures I'll post this week.

Sucks going back to work after a three day weekend.

Insurance is less on the new truck than on the Ford? How is that?

Time for Summer's walk.

Have a Monday.

Thursday, August 2, 2012

it's my friday and i'll cry if i want to, off tomorrow

maybe i'll buy this if the truck falls through. 2006 audi s4, 63,000 miles. $22,411.00. fast convertible.

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

My new truck?

This may be my new ride. It is a 2004 GMC Sierra Denali. It only has 27,000 miles on it. It is loaded. Leather heated power seats. Cruise control. Power windows. 6.0 liter V8. Quadsteer. Shitty gas mileage.
It does have regular leather seats in the back. It is $21,000. I can have it for $19,000 which is a great price for this truck with so few miles.

I may buy this, sell the Sport Trac and use that money to payoff my last debt. Then I only have the house and truck to really worry about.

If this happens it will be this week.

Have a nice evening.

War

the more you listen to obama and romney the more i see things leading to a troublesome situation with iran. without some real and serious negotiations there is a bad outcome heading in that direction. that has the potential to cause a wide spread war in the middle east. i still do not understand the wide spread support for israel except for guilt over wwi and christian philosophy.

taking friday off so this will be a short week.

slept crappy last night.

what the hell is the deal with the republicans saying the government is being taken over by radical muslims.
is this the new "red scare"?

capital letters

Jimmy Fallon singing a kids song to the sounds of Jim.

The second video is Willies kid. Yup, just a little talent there. Check out some his other vids.

One of my favorite bike racers won the gold medal in the Olympic road race yesterday. It was an unexpected win. Alexander Vinokourov is 39 so it is pretty cool. He plans to retire now that he has this medal. He is an aggressive rider and I like that in bike racing

My house feels like it is one continual spider web. The things are all over the place. How annoying. I wonder how many I can't see.

i really think i may stop using capital letters. i miss so many when i type and have to go back and fix them.
i hope you agree.

when i was at the bike race in high point yesterday i realized that i would need to lose 80 lbs to be effective.

need to buy some pants and shirts for work. do they maternity pants for men?

do you miss capital letters in my blog?

Friday, July 27, 2012

It is here again

Hi, happy its Friday. I am.

So I had to buy a new toaster oven last night and good lord it seems you have to be a rocket scientist to use the damm thing. What happened to a good quality toaster oven. Seems like it should be a simple thing to make.

Beginning to look for another vehicle. Maybe a new truck or a used vehicle with fairly low miles and a good warranty. I was thinking something like a Volvo V70 station wagon as a used vehicle. Good to haul Summer around in and haul junk around in. I'd prefer to keep the truck if at all possible.

No real plans for the weekend. What about you?

Thursday, July 26, 2012

toasty thursday

looks like another day near 100 here in the triad.

why do some weeks seem to go faster than others?

are you going to watch the olympics?

time to go out and grease up the bird feeder to keep the squirrels at bay.

have a hot hot thursday.

no title post

The average teen sends 4000 texts a month. I might send four.

It's humid this morning. Summer goes out to do her morning chores and wants to come right back in.

My little maters are very tasty. Wish I could remember the type of mater.

that is it.

have a nice day.

Monday, July 23, 2012

UUgh

Repeat video.

Lots of heavy rain Friday and Saturday night.

Flights to Ct. are expensive and the times are not great. I may see if Charlotte has better times and prices.

Went to Trader Joe's in Chapel Hill yesterday. They are owned by the same company that owns Aldi.

Hot weather is still here. 97 by Thursday.

Cleaned the guest house this weekend and put stuff up in the attic. Lots of room now. Easier to work out there.

I need to borrow my neighbors belt sander so I can sand a table and toy box. The little palm sander does not cut it for heavy duty sanding.

Have a Monday.

Gramp Sevigny

Here is one of the last houses my grandfather built in 1957.

http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/64-Book-Hill-Rd_Essex_CT_06426_M33445-65037?source=web

It was designed by Ulrich Franzen.
What what I understand the guy was a wacko and it almost bankrupt my grandfather and most everyone else involved in the project. My father has letters my grandfathers workers wrote to him saying they would never work on a project that this guy designed.

I need to get some of the magazines this house was featured in. A neat slice of family history

Broken

After I stopped at the pet store last night the truck barely wanted to run. I think I need to get the fuel filter replaced. Have to limp it to a garage today and see if that is the problem. Like I need to have another expense these days. Hopefully that is the problem and it is nothing major.

Summer has fleas. The Frontline is not working. Seems fleas are bad this year. I hear Dawn does a good job at getting rid of fleas. We shall see.

Well the hot and humid days of summer have settled in. Looks like we are hot for the next week, maybe a rainy day Saturday.

Ebooks are now outselling hardcover in many areas.

Finally getting peppers and maters from the garden.

Think I'll have some toast. See you later.

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

good morning

Grocery shopping this evening.

Work is super busy. Where is all the money coming from?

We are building another military base in the mid east.Yup, just what we need.

I like my new phone. There are some good camera apps these days.

When some cool weather comes I am heading to Bluefield.

Speaking of Bluefield I got my property taxes yesterday. $8.12 for a year.

Picture is fromWytheville, Va.

Sunday, July 15, 2012

So here is the ladies 1940's B.F. Goodrich bike all ready for a ride. She goes along very nicely and stops very poorly. Hills not recommended at this time.

Going to make reservations to go to CT. Labor Day weekend. It's my parents 50th.

Have to fix one of the bird feeders today. The ground is soft from all the rain and it is tilting making it easier for the little gray rats to have easier access to food.

Time to take Summer for a walk.

Have a sunny Sunday.

Jill Stein

Jill Stein has picked Cheri Honkola as her Vice Presidential running mate. These two make a great team and these are the people who we should look upon as our leaders.

Check out this story from Palm Coast. It happened to Tammy's neighbors pit bull.
http://www.news-journalonline.com/news/local/flagler/2012/07/12/ex-flagler-school-board-member-accused-of-stabbing-pit-bull.html

I went to mail some bills the other day and realized I had washed and dried a brand new book of stamps.

So I bought new ones today. They are of Miles Davis and Edith Piaf.
Here are a vid of each.

Have a great Friday fellow citizens of the world.

It's all skippy

It's funny that Ken posted "The Eagles" today. I was watching Tavis Smiley last as Glenn Frey was his guest and said I need to post Doolin Dalton today. I added Witchy Woman as an extra gift.

Therapy is all done. Wanna go two steppin', maybe a jig. Your call.

Lots of rain the past couple days. Me thinks I may have a leak in the roof. Further investigation required.

MMM Katie Holmes.

Have not worked on the bike yet. I guess that is Saturday's chore.

I need a vacation.

2's day

Too bad so many of Jimi's live recordings are of a poor recording quality.
We are missing more than we know.

Went for therapy this morning at 7:20 a.m. I was a 24 hours early.

How is the economy supposed to get better if company's keep their profits and do not give pay raises?
If the cost of goods keeps rising and our paychecks do not rise things will not get fixed.

Here is the real truth. Company's have done without employees for many years and they actually have no plans and never had any plans to bring back the unemployed.

Read this story and tell me what you think.
Bet you know where I stand.

We are doomed by big money on all fronts.

France is looking better. I'll become an expat on the land of my fore-fathers.

Fight the Power.

F'ing hot weekend

It was over 100 on Saturday and Sunday here in Gibsonville. Looks like today will be the end of the heatwave and the high by Thursday will be in the mid 70's. Hooray.

Did not to do much this weekend since it was so hot.

Should have one of the bikes I bought last weekend up and running by the end of the week.

The Tour de France has been pretty good this year.

Still have not decided what to do for my parents 50th. Trying to get my brother to work on some plans is a pain in the ass. He is in CT. so help from him would be nice.

Time for breakfast. A long shower is in order this morning.

Friday, July 6, 2012

Places to go

Wanna go visit?

Hot Hot Hot.

100 here today and tomorrow.

The 4th was a good time. Hot as heck. The stickers and buttons went over well. No real issues with any right wing nut jobs.

Two more therapy sessions.

Peppers are finally coming in the garden. Garden is basically a bust this year. Does not get enough sun for the most part.

That's it.

See you.

Happy 4th of July

Going to the 4th of July "Fun 4th" festival with World Can't Wait. We have a table, they have been going since 2002, and we will be selling buttons and bumper stickers that most certainly push a few buttons.
I am sure some people will actually be pissed at some of the things we have.
Should be fun. I'll post some pictures to Fbook.

It will hot, 97 or so. Bringing lots of water.

Have a great day my fellow children of immigrants.

Sunday toast

Stephen Shore // Uncommon Places from haveanicebook on Vimeo.

So it was over 100 Friday and Saturday here in Gibsonville. Today a cool 98. So sad.
Friday we did not hard rain here. However we were on the edge of the darn thing and it got insanely windy.
My neighbor lost two trees. A big old monster that had a rotten truck very close to the ground. When that one fell it took out a much smaller tree.

Went up to Reidsville today to catch a little bicycle racing. It was hot as hell and then this storm blew in from the mountains with super intense winds, some rain and lightning. The temp dropped twenty degrees in a matter of minutes. After the storm blew racing resumed and so did the heat. There was guy who carried a few extra and he came in last. He actually got lapped. However he finished and that is not something I could do. The racing was decent. Pretty much a three way photo finish.

My leg has made major strides over the last  week.. Rode the bike for twenty minutes and the leg was fine.
The only problem is my big ass gut get in the way and my ass get sore. I want to work it up to an hour.
I just played Pandora with my new phone and the killer headphones that came with it and pedaled away.

Bought two old bikes yesterday at an auction for a total of $30.00. One is a late 40's or early 50's B.F. Goodrich ladies bike. The seat needs replacing and it needs need tires and tubes and she is road ready. Really no paint on it but it can stay that way for now. From what I could find out about this bike it looks to worth a minimum of $100.00.

The other is a men's bike from Sears, may J.C. Higgins, if I am right. This needs new tires and tubes. Should have a new seat, but not required for now. The rear wheel actually needs to be replaced. This is a 10 speed from the look of the hub. Maybe I'll get a regular wheel and put that on since it needs brakes anyhow. more research required.

Mr Young does it again

From Neil's new album "Americana". Killer version.

Well now that Obama's healthcare plan is legal when will my bills go down. UMMM no.

Not sure what I am doing this weekend. No real plans and since it is going to be over 100 I think I'll keep them low key for the most part.

Maybe I'll spend some time figuring out my new phone and get some things ready to sell on Ebay.

That is it for this morning. Time for breakfast.

Peace.

No name blog

So I decided to go the cheaper route and bought the HTC Rezound. It was $79.99 and the Razr was $199.99. I'll keep the cash in my pocket, thank you. Now to figure out how to use the thing.

The fires in Colorado are crazy. Seems to be no end in sight.

This women has some great shots of the fires since she goes in with the firemen.

Two more weeks of therapy.

Fleetwood Mac's album came out 35 years ago. Feel old now.

Before the heat

It is 50 here this morning. It is going to 100 plus Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Oh yea. That should be fun.

Looks like two more weeks of therapy. Things are coming along well.

Cleaned my gutter along the back of the house Tuesday night. Sprayed some flex seal to seal the leak that was right above the door. Yes it involved a ladder and no I did not like going to high on the ladder.

I need a vacation, soon.

Got to run. Time for breakfast.

Broken

Seth Godin at Gel 2006 from Gel Conference on Vimeo.

Looks like I'll have to replace my cell phone this week. The screen is starting to go and its seems there is no way to recover the pixels. Ugghh. I need to replace it by Thursday or I cannot keep my unlimited data plan as Verizon is getting ready to change plans and screw their new subscribers. I think I'll get the Razr since the phone I would like to get it not available until sometime in July.

My new old bike goes along fine. Summer went for a nice run with me as I rode. Not so sure she had fun.

The leg is slowly getting better.

I think I may take next Thursday and Friday off and get a mini vacation.

Time to shave. Later.

Gun runners

Considered by many to be the greatest performance in rock history.

It would be nice to know the truth behind the stupid gun running program with Mexican drug lords. Do you know its safer to live in Kabul than in Ciudad Juarez. I am sure Mexico is happy with the drug problem in the United States. Some legalization would be a nice thing for the lives of Mexicans.

Greensboro's Summer Solstice event is tomorrow. I am heading over at some point. It will be toasty warm for the event. 90's and humid. Should be a good time for some pictures and seeing faires and butterfly's and such.

Gas in a few places just north of Greensboro has fallen below $3.00 a gallon. Lowest in town is $3.19.

I want to have the Bacon Hot Fudge Sunday from Burger King. Maybe for lunch today. MMMMM.

Progressive Obama

This is a great reason why one should see live music.

So I am sure you have heard about the "kill list" that President Obama has created based on reports he gets from assorted intelligence reports. On that list are American citizens, teenagers, alleged terrorists, terrorists and others who he has deemed to be a threat to America. While I have no doubt that a list like this has inhabited many White Houses over our history the fact the President Obama has put Americans on the list should be a great cause of concern for all Americans..

How is it that an American who has not been charged with a crime be killed by his own government? How is it that such an event is even legal? Oh its legal because HIS justice department can twist and mold and shape existing law to fit any argument he wants push forward, just like President Bush did with waterboarding.
What is the difference, not a damm thing. Oh well maybe ones a democrat and one is republican. Oh yea the supposed progressives got all in a twitter about Bush but do not have any balls when it comes to criticizing Obama. Yup that's it.

What makes Obama the decider about these lives? They all should be given due process. The more we kill people without due process the more we become like the ones we claim as enemies.

Drones................ How would we react if another country decided to use drones and strike American targets. Oh there would outrage that we have not seen the likes of. Do you think Pakistan likes drones killing citizens in their country. They have told us to stop using drones in their airspace and we continue to do so.
Do you think this is nation building?

We have created and used Stuxnet and Flame viruses to attack Iran. How in the world do we expect to looked at as leaders of the world when we continue to do these things.

Of course all these things are being done by Christians who claim moral superiority over all others so I am not surprised in the least. If anything I am saddened by our lack of moral leadership and the fact that so few even bother to call President Obama to answer on any of this. You can bet if all these things were done by a Republican that democrats and progressives would be having mass strokes in the streets.

Listen to this, please.

Glenn Greenwald: Obama's Secret Kill List "The Most Radical Power a Government Can Seize"

for whoever you are

One of my favorite songs. You can feel the emotion here.

So my crappy little garden is so weird.  Most of the plants are healthy but not growing at all. I have one mater plant that id five feet tall and giving no maters another mater 4 feet tall and no maters and two pepper plants about a foot and half and sprouting peppers. Two of the herb plant going crazy and others not growing.

I guess major dirt turning and replacing for next spring.

Back to therapy this morning. Not sure it is really working yet. Hope to see a major improvement by the end of the week.

Need to take some aspirin. Have a nice little headache going on right now. Throb, throb, throb.

Dragon's Blood soap is quite nice.

Blurb

A decent weekend. Perfect weather all weekend. 50's for breakfast and 80 for dinner.

Farmers market and grocery shopping Saturday morning. Pretty much stayed home for the most part as my leg was killing me.

Went out and bought myself New Balance running shoes yesterday. It is crazy how light running shoes are these days. Thin sole and no weight almost as good as bare feet. They are grey and bright orange. I like the boldness of the orange.

This Saturday Greensboro is having its Summer Solstice event. Should be good as we will be entering the heat of Summer this week.

Time for breakfast. Have a good Monday.

Ouch

So I had therapy yesterday and it went pretty well. There was one slight problem. When she was working my hamstring, the pain was super intense. I actually started to get light headed and sweat like crazy. I thought I was going to pass out. They freaked a little bit and called 911. Of course everything was fine and after 911 left I went to work, after getting some breakfast.

Looks like a perfect weather weekend here in NC. Go no real plans. Going to work on finishing stripping the dining room table. Would be nice if I had a larger and stronger sander to take the paint off with a little less effort.

Are you going to watch Nik Wallenda tightrope across Niagra Falls tonight?

See you later, tater.......

Humid

Crazy humid yesterday and this morning.

First real physical therapy session yesterday. Went well and I do not expect the sessions to last long.
The next one is tomorrow morning.

Summers cough is making an attempt at returning. Last night she hardly slept she was panting so heavy all night.

Should I sell some of my camera collection?

Sales

Going to start putting things back on Ebay again. Time to take advantage of some of the things I have picked up at yard sales and so on. Want to pay off some bills a little quicker than my paycheck allows.

Have a session at therapy today.

Ok that is it for today.

Cereal for breakfast with blackberries.

Quiet weekend for the most part. Really did not do much and it was fine.

Doing the leg exercises and it is working. It hurts but already has more flexibility.

Sleep

Could have used more sleep this morning.

So I have leg exercise's I have to do at home and also two visits a week for therapy for a month.
The therapist is cute and married.

Thankfully today is Friday. Long work week. I need a vacation, now.

No plans this weekend for now except a visit to the farmers market for some greens, shrooms and whatever fruit is available.

I might as well take advantage of the therapy sessions to kickstart a diet.

Peace.
