North Korea

Well I think it is time that the rest of the world starts to ratchet up the pressure on North Korea.
We need to have China announce that they will open their borders to North Koreans and give them asylum if they cross into China. We need to have a full naval blockade that prevents any ship from leaving or entering into North Korea. We also need to start jamming all their radio and television transmissions.

North Korea's actions are so out of step with the rest of the world it is amazing they have gotten away with all their actions for so long. The world needs to put an end to this dysfunctional state.
It will take many years for them to even begin to catch up with the rest of the world. The people will need to totally transformed from a brainwashed state to a state of free thinking people. It will not be an easy task.

We also need to get our captured reporters out of North Korea, now. The world must start to put pressure in all forms on North Korea to cause the country to crumble and have its people begin to revolt in any form they can.

Time Off

I was on vacation for the last few days. Camped a Black Rock Mountain State Park in Mountain City, Ga. The weather was iffy at best. Rained much of the way up from Tampa. Rained a ton Saturday night and overnight Saturday. Then rained Sunday morning and Sunday night. Yippee.

However it was beautiful Saturday and we took a roadtrip up to Asheville and spent a few hours there. I have to say that I loved the whole vibe in the downtown area. It had a great feel with lots of art, shopping and restaurants. It had a hippie feel to it that I found appealing for sure.
I hope top be able to go back and spend a couple days there and check out the rest of the city.

I also stopped in Macon on Friday morning to snap a few shots. Downtown Macon is going through a renovation. It looked like it was fairly rough at one time. Hopefully they can keep it going. When I returned to my truck I had a flat tire. Called AAA and they were there within 25 minutes and had the tire changed and I was back on the road.

Overall it was a good trip and I am ready for a real vacation.

Spineless Leaders

It is so nice that the Democrats have completely caved in on Gitmo. There is so reason we can not bring the prisoners to the United States and be held here in our SuperMax prisons or they could go here.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30377315/

They are not going to escape and the prisons will not become targets. Those arguments are all things put out there to pray on unrealistic fears feed to us by our leaders and the media. Nobody has ever escaped from the SuperMax prison. They will not be released from prison onto U.S. soil. They are not U.S. citizens so that is not even a remote chance. Send them back to where they came from. Tough shit if they do not want them back. Tough shit for us if they go back to being terrorists or whatever they were. We release people from our prison system everyday and we know many of them will go right back to committing crimes. They still get released.

Harry Reid and company are weak leaders and they need to go away. Step up to the plate, grow a set and do the right thing. Close Gitmo, get the prisoners here, release the ones that need to be released, put the others on trial and let the courts do their job. If we have the evidence and the lawyers do their jobs these terrorists will be convicted and sent away for years.

It is time for the United States to act like the leader of the world and do the right thing. This whole torture and Gitmo mess makes us look weak not strong.
If you listen to the politicians reasons for starting the trials again and not bringing the prisoners here you hear one thing. We are afraid of the consequences of our actions.

Getting Ready

I am going camping this weekend in the mountains of Georgia. Planning out the weekend. I think I may stop in Macon and do some touring around the city Friday morning. Should be good to go someplace new and shot some pictures. It is getting stale shooting around here. Hope the weather is nice. Maybe head to Asheville on Saturday. Would like to go to Cades Cove but this weekend I think it would be very crowded.

Notre Dame

For several weeks now we having been hearing all this noise concerning Obama giving the commencement speech at Notre Dame. If you are not carefully paying attention you would think that the students of Notre Dame are behind this protest. However this is far from the truth. The protest is being pushed by Randall Terry and Alan Keys. These are not people who represent the views of most Americans. I would say that most people find Randall Terry to be a a little bit on the radical side. As for Alan Keyes well if he had any political capital he would be an elected official, However since his views seem to be getting more and more outside the mainstream he not longer is an elected official.

Every President since Roosevelt has spoken at the Notre Dame commencement and you can be sure that Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton did not hold the same views as the folks protesting President Obama. If these folks are holding the Catholic Church and its views so close their hearts why didn't they protest George Bush when he spoke at Notre Dame. If they are true in their convictions they would have protested Bush because of his views on the death penalty. The Catholic Church is against the death penalty and George Bush presided over the largest number of people put to death by the state while he was the Governor of Texas. See a problem.

If you watch the news today you will see the a large number of the protesters are clearly not students of Notre Dame. You will also see the numbers of protesters is very very small.

So just keep your eyes open and pay attention. Things are not what they seem.

Torture

The whole torture mess is starting to cause some big problems for Obama. He needs to release those pictures. He also needs to tell Pelosi to shut up. Nobody I know believes a word she says about it anymore.

He is also starting the trials again at Gitmo. Nice job on that one. Way to keep the base happy.
This one of many things he has failed to keep his word on. On many things he has gone back on promises. Sounds like the same old Washington to me.

Wow

Did we ever get hit with rain last night. We got hammered with a massive thunderstorm. We received 3 inches of rain over much of the bay area. There was tons of lightning, we also had a minor tornado. It was one of the most impressive storms I have seen in many years. That is saying quite a bit as we get some pretty intense storms during the summer. There was also tons of street flooding.

It looks like we may get more this afternoon. We shall see.

We Shall Remain

I just got done watching the last segment of "We Shall Remain" and I need to that it was a fantastic piece of documentary film work. I hope that this gives Americans a much better understanding of what we did to the native Indians.

It has always bothered me that we treated the Indians so poorly and gave them such little regard as human beings. Because of the conditions they have been forced to live under much of the Indian population lives far below the poverty line. Poor education, no income and government dependence has caused problems that are so deeply rooted in the Native American population that there seems to be little or no light at the end of the tunnel. On a vast majority of reservations people live with little or no heat, electricity and all the other basics we take for granted. We all should be ashamed that we are letting the people who were here first live under such conditions.

Summertime

Well the hot weather is here. It was 90 on Saturday and Sunday.
Went to the beach yesterday. The water was 81 degrees. Perfect temp for the beach.

Well gas has gone up here. W are catching up to other states. It is now $2.15 a gallon. So it went up 16 cents over the last week. What a scam. How the heck can It go up that much in one week.

It seems like our governor is going to run for the Senate next year. I say goodbye and so long. This state is so screwed up financially and most people, who do not pay attention to any of this have no idea. Maybe it will all come out during his run for Senate. It is about time Florida elect somebody with some vision to run this state, although I fear that will not happen.

Michael Savage is an asshole

So radio talk show host and all around loud mouth Michael Savage has been banned from England. I find this to be very hilarious. If you have ever heard this right wing nut job I am sure you will find the fact he can not go to England very funny also.

Although I think banning him from England for speaking his mind is stupid and most likely illegal he is getting his just reward for being a total douche bag. The fact that he is the third most listened too talk radio host behind Rush and Hannity has always amazed me. This guy's radio show has to be one of the most hated filled and pathetic radio shows in America.

He has been banned for being an asshole and a big shit talker. It is that plain and simple. The more that Americans hear about you the more trouble you will have coming your way.

Scumbags of America

Today I present two crimes that scream WTF is wrong with this world.

On Sunday in Lakeland, Florida a father shots his wife, 8 year old son and 5 month old son.
His 13 year old son was able to run away and escape death. The dirtbag then turned the gun on himself.

Very early this morning a 22 or 23 year old male breaks into his 17 year ex girlfriends apartment and starts an agrument. He kidnaps the girls 3 month old son, the boy is not his. He drives down the interstate and throws the baby out the window onto the highway. The baby died. The shitbag is caught a few hours later. He is still alive.

What the hell is wrong with these people. We live in a sick fucking world where we have people like this walking the earth.

Since I am against capital punishment I do hope that the shit bag who threw the baby out of the car window gets his skull knocked in by some of the jailhouse tough guys.

Monday Ponderings and other things

Why the hell do the phone companies and Yellow Book keep delivering endless amounts of phone books. Most people do not use them anymore. Please make them go away.

Twice in the last week I stuck behind some moron who drives with one foot on the gas and one on the brake. WTF. If you are that afraid to drive do use all a favor. Don't drive.

Since it seems to me that civil unions are on their way to becoming the law in most states I think it is time to separate marriage from the church and state. If people want to be married in a church before their God fine, if they want a civil union/marriage fine. Also it is time to get rid of Don't Ask Don't Tell.

How about that fake flu epidemic.

At the doctor today I find out my cholesterol dropped 40 points since I went on my weight lose plan and I have lost 13 pounds. The doctor could not believe it. I think she figured I would fail because most people do. That made my day.

This weekend

Going to a wedding tomorrow afternoon. The groom is Scottish and the guys are all wearing kilts.
Should be interesting.

Sunday is going to be a photo day. Not sure where I am going. Maybe a state park to get so pictures of nature. Depends on how I feel after the wedding.

Want to go to Alabama for some shooting. Rural Alabama seems like it will work well for my style of shooting.
