Wrap Up

I had to buy a new mouse for my computer. The new wireless mouse I bought a few weeks ago will be crushed under my truck tires in the morning. It is a piece of crap and has not worked in a couple days or worked correctly. It will now go into the dust bin of history. I will take pictures of it before and after.

Then the rest of the day will be taken up by Super Bowl events and the Bud Bowl Party tomorrow night. Should be a good time for all.

I need to buy a new couch as mine is shot. The center spring is broken and I sink down so far I need to climb out of the thing. Not what I want to spend money on but sometimes you have to.
Now how much should I spend and what style to get.

I need tire for my truck also. Man the money is pouring out right now. It sucks.
Seems like my income tax check is all gone before i even have it.

Parental Discretion Advised

Today the economic stimulus plan was passed and not a single Republican voted for it. They are now making the rounds on the talk shows and are bitching about the thing. Well I say "Fuck You" assholes. What did you did when you had control of the House or Senate, nothing. Not one fucking thing to help the average person stay afloat. You all voted no because you think you are going to be able to stick it Barack. Well it is our time now and you the Republican party have nothing to offer to me. Maybe you should have worked with the Democrats and put forth a plan that would have been acceptable to the President and your fellow Republicans. Lord knows the President gave them ample time to come up with an acceptable plan. I think he signaled well before he took the oath what his plans were. Where were your plans? Of course there is a bunch of shitty things in this bill. That is how all of the bills that have been passed for years have operated. Like this one was going to be any different. You make me fucking sick.

The taxpayer is getting screwed not matter what the plan is at this point. You need to fix the how the god dammed greedy banks work. They got all that money and did a shitty job with that and are not being held accountable. They charge us fees for every little thing, do not work with you when you have problems, gouge us on our credit cards, pay us shitty interest rates. I say let the shitty banks fucking fail. Fuck 'em they do not care about you or me. They need to held accountable for how they spend my money. Really they should have just give all of us the money, tax paying citizens, and let us spend our way out of the damm thing.

They are done

Wow, I am tired. It took me about 10 minutes to do my income taxes. If all things were so simple.

It is getting crazy in town with the Super Bowl a few days away. There are party's all over the place and most of them are for the rich and for those who just need to been with the in crowd. The famous are here along with a large number of strippers as Tampa has a whole bunch of strip joints. I have secured a ticket, free but required, to Bud Bowl on Saturday night. It is featuring a concert by Three Doors Down, who I have seen a number of times, and it will be a blast. This will be a take a taxi to the party night.

Vote for me........

Vote for me. I want to be in JPG.

Holy crap

Wow, a whole bunch of people lost jobs today. When is the next shoe going to drop? Seems like we are on the brink of going over the edge and there seem to be no answers at all. I keep on seeing my IRA take a dump. I guess that means I will have less money when I retire as I sure as hell am not going to work longer than I have to. Screw that notion. I want to have years where I can screw off and do nothing, thank you very much.

Events

So yesterday I went to the NFL Experience being held in town because we are hosting the Super Bowl this year. I have to say boo to this, although I sure that I am once again in the minority. My problem with it is that in post 9/11 world this event has become homogenized. Completely corporate. We last had the Super Bowl here in January 2001 and from my perspective the pre Super Bowl events around the stadium had a much more festive feeling. In 2001 MTV, ESPN amongst others had stages set up around the stadium with all types of activity. MTV had free concerts, Jennifer Lopez and others. ESPN was doing shows. One of the streets bordering the stadium was closed off and set up with all types of food vendors and memorabilia vendors. It had a very festive feel to it. Now the whole thing it a ticketed event and every damm thing is sponsored by somebody. You could get a hot dog, soda and fries for $7.00 if you put it on your Visa and pay $8.50 otherwise. I did not get food there. This is the third Super Bowl in Tampa since I have lived here and the least pleasing time I have had at any of the events leading up to the game. I am not really surprised, but I was hoping it would be different.

Bluegrass

Today I am heading over to the other side of the state to Yee Haw Junction to a bluegrass festival. These are always interesting since I do not fit into the demographic of the crowd at all.
There is a cool bar next door called the Desert Inn which I have some pictures of in my Flickr stream. I should get some decent pictures today of the bar and the bluegrass fest. However the bluegrass fest has the stage set up under a tent and this leads to poorly light pictures in most cases. But it is a fun and low key day. Go to the bar for beers and a hamburger, the bluegrass fests never sell beer, then here some tunes. Temps in the low 70's with no humidity, all signs point to a good day.

Today in History

Well I went the the snot doc today and got my meds so I will not be addicted to Afrin any more.
I now have Prednisone for five days and Astelin for how ever long I need it. This is a good thing as I have used Prednisone before and it worked quite well. She wants to find out why I have continual problems. This means tests and junk. I think it may be my pets, the dust bunnies.

A friend of mine who is on Flickr go contacted by Getty Images in this round of contacts and they want twenty of his pictures. Congrats to him. I wonder how they decide what pictures to use and how many they picked in this go around.

I hear that Rush , the bloated wind bag, wants Obama to fail. He said this to his bed fellow Sean Hannity, another wind bag. Let him fail and we are fucked as a country. Your best bud, George Alfred E. Newman Bush to took us so far down to path of failure we can not see the light of day.
So if Obama fails we all fail. Of course if we fail maybe you will dry up and go away so there is some promise in failure.

I think I am going to pick up a cd by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. A kick ass band that gets no airplay. Excellent lyrics and driving guitar. They seem to be bigger in Europe than here even though they are an American band.

Off to Flickr.

Heartwarming

Well I have to say it was very heartwarming to see all those folks in Washington at the inauguration yesterday. I hope our leaders were watching and took notice of that. That should be a clear indicator that America is expecting things to change and that we are sick of the way the country has been run. If we do not like things now is the time to stand up and be heard.
There has not been a better time in many years for the people to be heard.

Time to buckle up America

So tomorrow we begin a new era in the United States. All of us better get ready because the kid gloves come off now and the republicans will come out swinging and not take things easy. I hope that Barack sticks to his guns and fights tooth and nail for what we all believed and put him in office for. It will not be easy and I think we are in for a rough time over the next few years. Getting the economy on the right track is a long ways off in my opinion and I hope that people will be patient with the new administration.

So here is to you Mr. President. Best of luck, keep the faith and restore pride in America again.

Sunday Morning Soma

On Sunday mornings I like listen to Boot Liquor radio on http://somafm.com/ . It is a good way to start my morning with some alternative country and Americana music.

The other thing I like to on Sunday mornings schedule permitting is watch CBS's Sunday Morning. it is pretty good show mixed with news and slices of stories on pieces of Americana, art and music. One of the better shows on regular tv.

Yesterday I went to Orlando with one of the guys from work. We went to Shot Show which is the largest hunting and law enforcement trade show in the country. It is insanely huge. We went for the fun of it and also to see what new things are out there. I did score a couple pair of sunglasses from one of our vendors. Thank you very much. They are nice sunglasses. The place was packed with people however not as busy as in past years. All in all a good gay.

Believe in Yourself

Not such an easy thing to do when so many forces like to keep you down.
I wish I had the capacity to be positive all the time but alas that is not my nature.
So I take what I have and bend it to my will and do the best I can to ignore the forces
that seem to trying make be something I do not want to be. I am not perfect and do not wish to be. If we preached a positive and peaceful message to society it would be a great benefit to mankind as a whole. If you spend any time reading or watching the news you continually get bombarded with negative messages. Is it really a wonder why we are a screwed up world?
I like when I go days and do not watch the news. It can be a liberating feeling when you do not get sucked into the garbage we are feed everyday by the media.

I am going to read a book now. Goodnite.

Clueless

Man am I clueless. As some of you know a friend of mine purchased fadingamerica.com as a Christmas gift for me. I have it transferred to me now and now I have to figure out how this whole thing works. I have not a clue to what I am doing. When I read the instructions on what I am to do, or think I am to do, I have no clue as to what they are talking about. I am about as clueless as anybody when it comes to this. By the time I figure it out I will be 90 years old.

The Leaders

The nature of man she be a cruel beast.
Knowledge as fear, propaganda as truth
The leadership has done their job so well

Broken

Beaten down, dreams almost faded
Seeking salvation from where he not knows
Others are calling knowing his fate

Lunging for reality
Lunging for reality
Lunging for reality they all go away
All go away

Visions repaired, faith restored
Minds are cleaned and peer through the door
Grasping and clawing, dirt underneath
Escape has begun, being broken is done

Lunging for reality
Lunging for reality
Lunging for reality they all go away
All go away

Visions not done, a swirling pain
Tortured and painful, living out the truth
Locked inside is a painful youth

Lunging for reality they all go away

Polaroid Digital

Here is the latest camera from Polaroid. It is their new Digital instant camera called, POGO.
It produces a 2" X 3" shot that you can crop, edit and print in under a minute. The film cost $4.99 for a ten pack. Sounds like a pretty cool idea and I expect it will be a pretty big hit among Polaroid fans. Once the price drops from the $200.00 range I may just get one of these. It is not a high end camera by any means but it can bring the fun back as far as just taking pictures and having a print right on the spot. I think in the digital age some people have forgotten this aspect of photography.

Dumb Dick Cheney

I see that our wonderful VP is giving advice to President Elect Obama on foreign policy today.
You have got to be fucking kidding me. Mr. Cheney you and your puppet have screwed this country up so dammed much that it will take years to undo the damage you have done to our standing in the world.

You think water boarding is fine. Well come on over and I will get a few people to test this theory out on you. In the meantime we will tap your phones and monitor your internet activity because we do that all the time in a free country. You and your paranoia have put a dark cloud over the United States that we may someday recover from.

We do not expect Mr. Obama to heed your advice and we do expect him to treat the other citizens of this world as human beings. Yes the world can be a bad place and you have made it worse for us.

Fuck you very much.

Things I am wondering about

Why is Bernard Madoff still on the streets. He said be in jail at this point. Must be because he is rich. If the average person did this on a scale befitting their income you bet they would be in jail.

Why is it that the education system is the first thing to take a hit when local and state governments need to fix their budget problems. I think they want an uneducated public.

If Israel continues bombing Gaza will Iraq or Syria attack Israel?

Why do people feel the need to tailgate when I am going 80 on the highway?

Will I ever have cool weather in Florida this winter?

Where should I go on vacation this year?

Should I take a photography class?

How long before Chysler goes out of business?

Where do I belong?

I often wonder why the first word we learn is no.
It should be nature, nuture and love.
Show us the world in its glory and slendor.
Give us the arts and give us peace.
Teach the spirits, teach me humility.
Open the heart for true acceptance, avoid unintented consequences.

We are being repressed before we grow.

Finally

Well I got off my lazy ass and burned all my pictures to to discs. It took many many hours and about 100 discs to get this done. Of course most of the pictures are garbage in my opinion but that is the great advantage of digital cameras. You can waste all the space you want and not worry about it at all. Now I just need to burn as I go along, it is much easier.

Well I see that Oregon has been testing a system based on GPS navigation systems to see how many miles one drives and what time they drive so they can tax you on the mileage you drive and you could pay a premium based on the time you drive. They want to do this because the money from gas taxes is decreasing and will continue to decrease as more cars use alternative fuels or some type of battery. Well I do not want a gov't sponsored or mandated GPS in any car I own. I do not need them having any more of an idea of where I go and when than they do right now. They already know and too much about where we go via credit cards, those little toll machine things and with cell phones. Enough is enough I say. Where does our privacy end?
