The doctor says three more weeks using crutches. Things are moving along quite well and he is pleased.

The Florida Highway Patrol has much to answer for regarding that deadly accident on I-75. One thing that has not been mentioned is that on north end of both the north and south bound lanes where the accident happened are rest areas that have FHP officers patrolling the rest area. They are permanent fixtures of those rest areas. One has to wonder why that highway was open. It is a stretch of highway I have traveled many many times.

60's the next three days. Seems like spring.

Kettle them

So Saturday was another day of Occupy Oakland vs. the Oakland police and once again things got nasty.

One thing this video shows is there was no reason for the cops to fire on the protestors here.

Another thing not being reported in main stream media, msm, is what the protestors say happen at the YMCA. The police and the moronic mayor of Oakland say they broke into the YMCA. The protestors are saying the police were kettling them, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kettling, telling them to disperse while they had them completely surrounded. They end up at the doors of the YMCA and where surrounded by the police on three sides and the YMCA at their backs. They claim the people at the YMCA let them in so they could escape out the other side. Unfortunately for the police they have so little credibility here that one finds there stories hard swallow.

Occupy is coming out of its winter slumber.

I have a doc visit today to get a progress report on my leg. I am skipping into the office, well maybe not. I do expect a good report though.

Is it Friday yet.

Conversation I hear a work the other day regarding African Americans and how they feel.

"Why don't they get over it slavery ended 150 years ago."

"Yea I agree." from two different people.

Holy shit I had to keep my tongue at the risk of saying things that would have cost me my job. What a bunch of fools. Segregation did not end until 1965 and if you think Jim Crow does not exist today then you have no idea of what really goes on this world.

My job is killing me.

Sunday Morning Goodness

Hope you have a mystical morning.

Lovely day yesterday. Low 60's and lots of sun and not a cloud in the sky.
Took a few pictures and I am going to go out a took a bunch today.

Here is a great site that will keep you well informed about internet censorship.

https://www.eff.org/

Watch out because the U.S. will try to get around SOPA and ACTA by blackmailing other countries into retifying or passing their own versions. It is already happening.

Here is a protest in Warsaw.

Watch out big brother is coming to get you.

Have a great Sunday mi amigo's.

Oh to be a Friday

Don't forget T Rex. Wonder what Marc Bolan would have done had he not died so young.

Going to the bank today to met the mortgage man and see what options I have about lowering my mortgage.

63 here this morning. Should be sunny this weekend so pictures are in order.

Off to shower my friends.

Snooze

Snooze button. Snooze button.

No time to do much blogging.

Enjoy the Heep.

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

I look at this photo everyday. I have too for motivation.

My left arm is killing me. I slept on it last night and did not even sleep well.

Congratulations to the Supreme Court for the decision against the police and for the people in limiting police actions without a warrant. The was about privacy and will be the big as social networking grows larger in all its forms. Keep an eye out as we go forward as the powers of police get larger and larger.

Fight the Power.

Fading America Photography

I set up a web page on Facebook yesterday for Fading America Photography and have the links for the pictures pointing to fadingamerica.com. Time to use Facebook to start making some money from my photography. Have never dome much with the website and sold only a couple prints. Since I now can like both together it is a perfect way to promote my work.

I will be uploding pictures to the Facebook page all this week and then adding more to fadingamerica.com after that. I think I will also use Megashot to promote the work.

Time to get off my keyster and make me some money from my travels.

Remember the post last week about the plastic beach artists. I saw them on a tv show last night. It was a signal to get going and do some work.

My new job?

Where is it?

Neat little tune.

Crappy sleep both nights this weekend. Uggh. Like I need that to go along with everything else.

The racists win in South Carolina, hardly a surprise.

I feel like putting on a life preserver and then taking a long hot bath a falling asleep and then waking up like a prune.

I think I need a massage.

I feel like I need another job.

Hope you had a good weekend.

Rainy Days Always

I made a trip to the mailbox last night without my brace on and only had one crutch in case it was needed. Went well. It was not a fast trip but it was a good one.

I still have a little bump on my head three weeks after the fall. Thankfully I am still mentally stable. ertbvmvvmky$%&[] went the dog, uurgg, and then the bats flew home. Vote for a Newt. Still here.

This is what my fortune was from the fortune cookie yesterday.
"When you learn to be flexible, amazing opportunities reveal themselves!" Does that apply to climbing ladders and then falling. If I was flexible would bones have been broken?

Have you seen the 3-d printers that are now on the retail market. You can make your own toys and stuff. I want one when I win lotto or maybe next week.

I am full of piss and vinegar this morning and want to say things to push someones buttons.

Why is it raining. There are some old cars I want to shoot in the morning when the sun is coming up. They are in the woods off the highway and they look great in the sunlight at that time of day. Hopefully I can capture them like my imagination has seared the imagine in my mind.

Republicans for open marriage. Vote Newt 2012.

Finally Friday

Lovely version of one of my favorite songs.

Looks like crappy weather most of the weekend with rain on and off heading this way.

The leg is getting better each day. Still can't walk on it fully but the pain is only occasional.

Goodbye Rick Perry, thanks for your stupidity.

Stephen Colbert for President.

Wrap your arms around your Friday.

Do you ache like I do

"Frampton Live' was the first real rock album I was ever given. Thanks to my cousins for this choice.

My body aches from using crutches, especially in the morning.

Wow, work is such a drag. So glad I am back.

Looking to refinance my mortgage to lower my monthly payment. I think I can lower it one % point.

Is posting this going to be a SOPA violation? If so "#$%& you" to Chris Dodd and company.

Time to soak in the tub and wake my bones up.

Have a Thursday.

Embraceable

One Plastic Beach from High Beam Media on Vimeo.

The doctor visit went well yesterday. He was very happy with my progress. The x-rays looked very good. The brace in the picture above is what I am wearing now. At least now I can move my leg much easier. Getting in the truck is still a pain. I go back in two weeks. I expect full recovery soon.

The beach plastic video is something that I have wanted to do with plastic and other things I have found on the beach for many years. I need to get to the beach soon. i feel a beach roadtrip coming soon. I also have a bunch of army men I need to do something with.

Martin Luther King

Martin Luther King - Where Do We Go From Here? (Conclusion) from MLK Speeches on Vimeo.

So today we celebrate Martin Luther King and of course we go off to work and school and visits to our doctors and for the most part ignore an American who we still have so much to learn from. Why as a nation do we ignore the people who fundamentally changed and shaped America.

This is a great speech, one of many by King, that should be required learning in schools across the America.

We are one.

No Stranger to me

Stranger was THE band in Florida when I moved to Tampa in 1989. I had seen them a couple of times before when I went to Florida to visit Mike. They were one of those bands that was so close to going to the next level which would have been the top and they never made it. Hard to figure out why that happens to bands. Their shows were always one hell of a party and hangovers the next morning were not an uncommon event.

Took my immobilizer off yesterday at about 8p.m., and have not put it back on, and guess what, the swelling has gone down significantly.

The Pats kicked God badly last night. The 49ers game was great. Hope the Packers roll today.

Going out to get gas and take some pictures of barns. William Christenberry type barns.

Saturday morning acoustic

Cleaning some windows this morning. Vacuum this afternoon. Nap whenever I want.

Who wins today God or the Patriots? Bet the ratings will be huge. Super Bowl type numbers will be watching this game.

I am itching to go for a drive and shoot some pictures. Maybe tomorrow morning.
Shoot from the drivers seat.

I am going to put socks on Summer so she can pick up her own dog hair. I think she may object to such work.

Have a sunny Saturday.

No sleep for Skippy

Short nap tonight. Not doing anything leads me to sleep even less than usual.
Good or bad, you decide. Keep getting spasms in my left leg that kept me awake.

The folks I bought the house from just sold the house they moved into. They are having a yard sale today. I think I will drive over there and skip around to see if i can find anything to bring back to this house. Can't not go since it is right around the corner.

I have my follow-up visit with the doctor on Monday. I assume I will be going back to work after that.

What is going on in Iran? Are we waging a covert war with help from Israel?

Looks like a dusting of snow over the hills at Ken's place.

Have a good Friday the 13th. Watch out for ladders...................

Halfway Clean

At least half of me is clean. Taking a shower with one leg sticking outside the tub for most of the shower is interesting. I did manage to lift my left leg in so I could wash some of the iodine off. Actually the bench Mike made works well and is very safe.

The leg does not hurt as much today although the swelling in my foot refuses to go away. My foot and ankle have lots of blood just sitting around looking ugly.

Lots of birds at the main feeder today. They must be bulking up for the next cold snap.

Time for a nap

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Hello, my name is Skippy

So here I am. It is Tuesday morning and the surgery was successful. Two screws in the tibia. One in the front and one in the back. I removed the immobilizer cast this morning since that was causing me more pain than anything else. It was stretching one of the muscles and was unbearable. I will put it back on when I go out and about.

Having Mike here has been a blessing. Not sure if he realizes it or not.

The Doc wants me out of work for 7 to 10 days basically to keep me from being to mobile.

Going grocery shopping today and stock up so that I can be set for a couple weeks for the most part.

That is for now. I am back and ready to take on the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you ready for me?

Weekend of the couch

One of the top guitar intro's ever. The player's Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter also played for Alice Cooper. You can hear them on the "Welcome to my Nightmare" movie and you hear many shades of the solo's here on that movie.

Mike will be here tomorrow evening. He is bringing me to the hospital on Monday and he will be here until Wednesday morning. Hopefully everything will go according to plan and things will be easy for him. I expect Monday night will be mostly sleepy time.
Tuesday morning may be rusty and then onto the recovery road.

Outside of vacuuming today most of the day was spent doing nothing except taking cat naps. Very boring in reality.

I had the screen door and door in the kitchen open this morning and twice a bird flew in. Once to drink water from a pan I had soaking and the other time it flew around the kitchen landed a few times and then it zipped outside again. I closed the screen door since I figured chasing a bird around while I am on crutches would be an issue.

Laundry in the morning.

Enjoy your Saturday evening.

Ouch, I am getting screwed

Well the outcome at the doctors today was not good. The top of the tibia, on the left side of my left leg, has a nice break and then it gets smaller going done in a j looking line to the outside of the bone. The ultimate outcome is I am having two screws put in on Monday. It is outpatient surgery so I have to get a ride to and from the hospital. Then I also have to find someone to spend the night. My parents are out since my mom is still sick in bed with some kind of virus. Have no idea what to do about that at this point. Then about two months on crutches after that.

I have no food in the house for the most part. No bread, butter or milk. My knee is absolutely killing me tonight. It exhausts me to deal with this by this time of the day.

Now on to the song. Sung this at parties many times and at one wedding. The last party I was at the police came because we played the song over and over and were singing it very loud.

Tuesday, January 3, 2012

Not much for this morning. Going to call the orthopedic doc and hopefully get the appt. for today. Going to take a bath this morning. Pray I do not slip in the tub. Here is one for reason to get rid of the claw foot tub. Summer is confused by the crutches.

1 2 12

Need a little positive message this morning. My leg hurt like hell this morning and then a short time after I was and about I misjudged my crutches and fell on the ground. Good morning world. Swept the living room by moving around from sitting place to sitting place. Did the dishes and have a small tender loin in the oven. One of my neighbors is coming over to wrap the faucets outside since the first real winter weather is coming tonight and I do not need freezing pipes. Not much else going on. Hope all are well.

Happy New Year's moi przyjaciele

I thought I would start the year off on a different musical note than what I usually have here.

First of all I like musicals and West Side Story of course is a classic.
This film came out in 1961. Too think that it is 50 years old this year and had the lyrics that are in this and it won 10 of 11 Academy Awards is pretty amazing. Still relevant today I would say.

The swelling in my knee has gone down significantly. There is also more flexibility.
I think my visit with the orthopedic doctor will be a good one.

I think I am going to take a drive today and shoot pictures from the truck.
The weather is about perfect for a nice drive.

2012 will be the year of losing weight, getting my pictures in another gallery and hopefully going to France with my brother and sister-in-law.

Be well in 2012.
