Kodachrome

I tourded Gibsonville Saturday and I think house one in the home search is the house for me. I am going to look at houses Saturday, not that I want too at this point, but because I think choosing after the first tour is unwise.
However I have already told my relator if I do not see "the one" then I want to go forward with this house. That is when the fun begins with negotiations, home inspections and such. It will be an education.

Between the house and outbuilding there is plenty of living space. Having a regular patio and a screened porch are very nice. With all the plants they offer lots of privacy when things turn green. The outbuilding can be a studio, a guesthouse or workshop since it has a toilet. My plan would be guesthouse/studio for the most part. There is a small little building if you want to call it that where they have all their gardening tools. BTW the outbuilding is new, 15 years old. They bought this house 15 years ago and it was totally unlivable. Completely rehabbed it.

Perfect weather yesterday. 67 degrees. I hope this signals the turn towards spring. Ohhhhhhhhh Yea baby. Got to love that spring feeling.
Hope you got to be outside for a spell.

Blogger sucks scrimshaw

Blogger was giving me problems once again. Took forever to post the picture.

The picture is my parents house after the 16 inches of snow they got Wednesday night.
Between the storms of the last two weeks they have had 34 inches of snow. They both said they have never seen so much snow. My dad is going up on the roof of the kitchen, porch and garage to get rid of some of the snow. Lots of roofs collapsing.

Tomorrow the house hunt starts. Going to look at the old house in Gibsonville. Then a open house on Sunday.. The fun begins.

Great song by Queen. Not a lot of people know this one. One of my favorites

Going now. Blogger is being a real fucking pain in the ass.

Good Thursday. Just saying Hi.

Here is some early Priest.

Spring?

The U.S. National Figure Skating Championship is in Greensboro, I am not going.

Going to apply for my mortgage today.

Have not really found any other homes that appeal to me yet. Am I to picky? Maybe. Lots of ranch style homes. Uugh.

Temps are on the rise here. 50's around the corner. Maybe I'll start some plants this weekend. Get a head start on some things to dress up the porchette. Then I can transplant them when I move.

Started dieting. Salad for lunch everyday. Got to lose weight. I refuse to buy new jeans so the weight has to come off.

I like how northern Africa and parts of the middle east are coming apart in the name of freedom.

The gov't can't find any link between Julian Assange and Bradley Manning. Imagine that.

Need a shirt?

Bertha

So there is always a catch with a house. The house I posted pictures of is advertised as a two bedroom house, one upstairs? and one down stairs. It is being used as a one bedroom. The bedroom upstairs only has a ceiling height of 6 feet. The downstairs bedroom is being used as a dining room. Well knock me over cause who the hell knew there was a second floor. I'll wait till Saturday to see what the story is. That could be a problem if that really is the case.

Gonna watch Obama's State of the Union tonight?

Income tax time tonight. No sure what kind of refund to expect, if any at all with NC's income tax. I could use a good refund right now.

Packers or Steelers?

If I have to rent month by month my rent goes from $735.00 to $910.00 a month. What a load of crap that is. Great customer service.

Later taters.

Could this be the one?

Is it possible I have found a house right out of the starting gate? Well I like the looks of this one and the pictures from the realtor's website that show the inside are quite appealing. It has a garden and patio in the back and the building in the back is a 20 x 20 wired shed with an attic. This was built in 1899. I suspect it was a carriage house or something like that at one time. List price $119,000. The plumbing and electricity has been updated at some point. I also saw bird feeders and boat loads of my friend the cardinal. Now that must be a sign. I am going to tell my realtor I want to look at this next Saturday. No screwing around here.

Samson and Delilah

The Dead sound very nice here. Got to love that drumming.

Got a realtor yesterday. Got onto the "secret MLS" and found a couple places that are quite suitable. Gonna give them a drive-by today.
My down payment can come tax free from my contributions.

What the hell happened at MSNBC to make Olberman leave. There go their rating into the shitter. Corporate pressure. Maybe Comcast it already throwing its power around.

Speaking of Comcast buying NBC. That never should have been allowed. More control of the media by corporations. They continue to feed us what they want us to hear. I urge you all to listen to the BBC, Al-Jazeera, ITN and other media outlets around the world to get a better idea of what is happening.

Have a satisfying Saturday.

China Cat Sunflower I Know you Rider

Some tasty little jamming for breakfast.

Glad it is Friday. I am going to do some house hunting this weekend and not much else. In a money lockdown for a while. Will need all cash available if I am moving soon.

I am getting sick of hearing everyone bitch about China taking our jobs. They, as a country as doing what they are supposed to do. What are we actually doing as a country to keep these jobs. No real policy from local, state or federal policy that I know of that is actually effective.

If I buy a house a golden retriever will be my house warming gift. One from a shelter.

Thank you Tammy. Spreading seeds for a positive change.

Ken, I hope you get to feeling better soon. I am sure you are waiting for that first morning you cam bake in the sun on your porch.

Peace my friends.

St. Stephen

Busy week at work, again. Business has been pretty good.

Going to see if I can borrow against my Roth IRA to use the money as a down payment for a house. Not sure what those rules are. I know there might be some tax rules that will make it a bad choice. Need to investigate this some more.

1,900 people lost their jobs yesterday in Greensboro.

Sorry, got nothing else.

Dead For Breakfast

Well Blogger is still not let me upload pictures.

I have started a new feature. Dead For Breakfast
Can not think of a better way to begin the day on most days.

I went and talked with the mortgage lady yesterday and I am quite qualified to buy a home. Credit very very good. I just have no money for the downpayment and the fees you need to pay to buy a home. Not sure how to handle that end of the deal. Time to get the brain up and running and see what I can do.

I need a break from work. A nice little vacation.

Time for yogurt and coffee.

Fucking Blogger

Blogger has decided it does not want me to upload pictures. It has rejected them for the last few days.

I'll just upload some Dead to start the day, it's all good. I love this song anyhow.

What the hell is Baby Doc doing back in Haiti. That man should have been jailed. Nothing good can come out last murdering scum being back there.

Score another one for Wikileaks. Wikileaks leak about the corruption in Tunisia was one of the players in the revolution of its people in getting them to force the corrupt leader to flee the country. It is amazing how Wikileaks, Twitter, Facebook and Youtube are playing roles in revolutions around the world. This is what the internet should be doing.

Bike riding in the morning starts tomorrow. Weight loss is coming.

Here is a house I would like to buy.

I am going to see about getting a mortgage. Hopefully find the right kind of deal for a first time home buyer. No money down.

GG Allin Carmelita

Unexpected pleasure from GG Allin. GG was one of rock n roll's most unique artists. I expect there will be no more like him in the near future.
Google him, if you dare. Anyhow he does a great version of the Zevon classic.

Still have sold nothing at the gallery.

One of my new cable channels is RT. Russian Television. It is an interesting channel. All news and documentary for the most part. Very much to the left and a fair amount of bashing the U.S. although I do not disagree with much of what they are saying. It is interesting though. Subtle propaganda.

I did catch part of a documentary called "Yes Sir, No Sir" about the movement amongst the soldiers in Vietnam who actively started protesting the war while in the military. It also had clips the F.T.A. shows in Vietnam which were the anti Bob Hope type of shows that were sanctioned by the government. I am going to rent the on Netflix. Looks very good and very timely.

Hope you enjoyed the video, it is a good one.

So Sad

I forgot to go to the grocery store yesterdat. I have no coffee, milk, bread, butter or anything else to drink.
Stupid. Morning with no coffee. Not a good thing.

I felt like crap last night so naybe that was why I forgot to go to the store. Maybe I'll go a lunch today. Cold enough that my truck can be a fridge for a couple hours.

My parents got hammered with snow. Mom said it was the most snow from one storm that she can remember. My dad actually went out at 3:30 in the morning and used the snow blower on the driveway.
He knew if he waited till he got up it would have been too much for the thing to work.
They can not wait till they leave for Florida.

I'll post some pictures tomorrow of their snow.

Comfy

I could have stayed in bed a bit more this morning. it was quite comfortable.

The ride to work yesterday was decent. Getting out of my apartment complex was the worst part and the road I live on was all ice. The highway was fine and the other roads were slushy.

We had no phones and internet yesterday until 2 p.m. It made for a nice day at work.

I saw this bumper sticker in Savannah. I like it.

My parents are expecting 8 - 18 inches of snow. Bet they are thrilled.

Went through my last three months of  pictures and I hated most of them. Uugggh. Need to get that groove back.

Got my wireless router set up so I can download to my Kindle from home. Reading Dracula for free.

It's a wintry mix

Well we escaped. sort of. While much of NC got 4 -6 inches of snow the Greensboro had an inch or so. Then it was topped off by freezing rain. The roads will most likely be in poor condition this morning. I am going to leave for work early so I can poke along and get the there nice and safe. The truck is not so good in icy conditions.

Tammy you need to call me when you get a chance. I may have a place to sell your "Essentials".

Yesterday was my one year anniversary at work.  Is a raise somewhere in the future?

Some folks were wondering if the shooting this weekend would tame all the rhetoric between the left and right that you hear in the media on a daily basis. Umm, no. If you watched any of Fox News or MSNBC you know that is not happening. Please folks, find a way to hammer them in a different way. Yea I know it brings in ratings and that brings in money. But you are part of the reason things are the way the are.

Well that is all I am writing this morning. Do not want to ramble on about things today.

Time to put my skates on and get to work.

Moving to the Country

One year ago today I was leaving the State of Florida on my way to Greensboro, NC. It has been an interesting journey so far. Some good, some bad and mostly ok. Now my trick is to find a home in the country, cheap, with some land, and get dirt on my hands. That's the goal for 2011.
Always full of schemes and dreams. Maybe of woman, that would be better than a house. We shall what my dreams and schemes bring this year. Wish me luck, my friends.

Snow today. they just a little. Then snow Monday night and Tuesday.

Have a first Friday.

Gerry we will miss you

Gerry Rafferty gone because of alcohol. We will miss you. Great music. Thank you.

This is one of the songs of my childhood.

Chester, CT

This is a shot of the little downtown section of my hometown, Chester, Ct. It looks exactly the same as it has for many many years. The stores have changed and the paint is much more vibrant but otherwise the view is the same. Nice lttle small town New England feel. Much of the Doris Day movie "It Happened to Jane" was filmed in Chester.

When you see a homeless person at the same place everyday week after week, month after month, do you feel compassion or contempt?

I did not win the Mega Millions drawing last night. Too bad, I had plans for that money. 355 million would have been a nice score.

We may have some snow tonight and tomorrow morning.

What do you think killed 5000 birds in Arkansas and 100,000 fish?

John Boner and Bitch McConnell take control of the political agenda today. Get ready for the ride, its going to get ugly real soon.

I like my Kindle.

WTF

I will post later. The post I spent half an hour on this morning would not post and got completely deleted.

Thanks Blogger, you suck.

So it begins

So 2011 has begun with two days of no sunshine and with on and off rain. Nice way to spend the weekend. Did not do a darn thing at all. A perfect waste of two days.

Did you make a resolution that you plan to break?

Maybe the world should make a resolution to take care of it citizens a little better. No war, feed your people, give them water. teach them to grow their own food, give them proper shelter. Maybe our leaders should have made a resolution to respect each others values and the values of peoples of other nations, colors and religions.

Maybe the United States should take the 1 trillion dollars that is spent on all military expenses and use that to fix our country.

If we resolved, this year, to fix all the roads, bridges, power lines, gas pipes, oil pipes and all similar infrastructure we could have the unemployment rate to very low levels and get things on the right path very quickly.

If we resolve to be the leaders of the world we would stop war.
