5 1/2 hours

Yup, it takes 5 1/2 to get to Edisto Beach Island from Greensboro.

Had an excellent weekend at Autumns. Conversation, fun, food, beach, art, relaxing.
I actually got sunburn on the tops of my feet Saturday. That is a rare "treat" for me. Can't think of the last time that happened. Walked the beach looking for for beach trash to do an art project and unlike Florida beaches there really was very little. There some, enough to do something.

Yesterday we went to Botany Bay, a wildlife preserve. It was a plantation many years ago. That is long gone for the most part. It also is one the beach and the scenery is quite special. The beach is eroding as mother nature intended and the beach has tons and tons of shells. Never seen more at any beach I have ever been at.
Any how  because of the erosion the section of the beach that was on land is getting invaded by the ocean and all the trees and palms slowly die as the salt water invades the root systems. It causes this section of the beach to have the wildest looking landscapes. I suspect that I have many great pictures which I will put up as the week goes along.

Autumn gave me a picture of here and Brian back in high school and Chris look just like his father. Freakishly so. :)

It is funny how after thirty years away from high school and 12 hours from where we grew up that we connect through the web and except for the passage of time it seems like much has not changed.

How wonderful and odd the way things work.

Picture is from Asheville. The sun was basically right overhead with no clouds so this is not as nice as I wanted. But it will do.

Ahh, you sound like a Jimmy Buffet type character and that is good.

Good photo to illustrate what you are saying about natural beach erosion; give mom nature a chance and she can plant a tree and build a sand dune.

Glad you are getting some quality time with someone you seem to like very much.
