United States of Spying

Glenn Greenwald is one of my favorite people in the world. He thinks so clearly.
I wish I had teachers like this when I was young.

We become the United States of Stasi more and more every day.

The true legacy of 9/11 is still being written in our continued lose of civil liberties, the ongoing illegal war in Iraq, the ongoing war in Afghanistan, drone attacks in Pakistan, drone attacks in Yemen, prisons run overseas by the CIA so THEY can avoid U.S. laws, more than 100,000 civilians killed Iraq, Guantanamo, the list goes on..................

We have spent at least 1.2 TRILLION dollars on wartime activities since 9/11.

We have 31 million children living in poverty. How many of them did not eat a real meal on this 9/11?

What is our legacy?

Well said. We better start educating our children with more enthusiasm in this country - it is our only hope.

9-11 was the best thing that Cheney could hope for. Like Greenwald said; Cheney had been striving to shift power from the people via Congress to the Executive branch and the Constitution be damned. I truly think Bush spent 8 years without a clue as to the fiasco his administration was bringing. He probably didn't much care, either.

BTW, the ABS rings on the Escape were both bad; one was broken apart and the other had rusted and come loose. It cost me $227 to have them replaced by Jerry's pop-in-law. Maybe you should have yours checked.

We would rather spend money killing people than educating our own citizens.

I will be interesting to hear how the Bush years are viewed twenty years from now. i think it will not be good.

I'll check the ABS rings.
