Sleepy Tuesday

Had a good visit from my parents. They left yesterday morning on their way to Florida.
I'll catch them on the way back for a short visit. It was good having them here.

Interesting race last night. Really uneventful for the most part. More drafting than racing. Horsepower did not win.

Brain is foggy this morning and I have nothing else too say.

The brace is gone. The doc is happy with my progress. Two more weeks using a crutch and then just a slow recovery. Should be recovered in time to garden.

My parents are now going to be here Thursday instead of Saturday. Well that does change my plans to do the extra cleaning I wanted to get done.

No raise............ They have not given out any in two years and it seems I am the only one who has asked. They are working on some commission program.

Metal Monday

A whopping 1/4 of snow last evening. Summer seemed to enjoy it quite a bit and she looked pretty neat with her fur covered with a layer of snow. In the 40's today so it will be gone quickly.

The groomer was sick yesterday so Summer did not get groomed. This Saturday morning is now the plan.

Doc visit at 9 a.m. to get what should be one of the last updates if not the last.

Parents will be here Saturday for a two night visit on there way to Florida.
I will cool to watch the 500 with my Dad.

American Regression

Are we really going to elect a religious zealot like Rick Santorum as President of The United States of America? A man who is continually bringing his faith into every speech he makes and is saying we are headed down the wrong path because we have lost our way with "his" God. Make no mistake that is what he is saying and I have to wonder how that is any different than the Islamist's we are waging the war on terror with. I wonder what he thinks "Separation of Church and State" means? America should be scared that there is even a remote chance that someone like this can have a chance to be President.


The race at Daytona last night looks like it may give us a good 500 this year. Race was very close and they will figure out the issues that caused the accidents.

Summer is going to the groomers today.

Looks like we may get some snow. Of course they have been saying we will get rain since last night and we have not had enough to make a dry sponge wet. So we shall see if snow comes.

Doctor visit and x-ray tomorrow. Think all will be well.

Rain today, Saturday and Sunday. Trees beginning to get some buds.

Summer is going to get her first comb and trim at the groomers on Sunday. Hope she is excited.

My Dad bought his first foreign car. They bought a 2011 Nissan Altima with 10,000 miles. Good choice of car.

The first Nascar race of the season is Saturday night with the running of the Bud Shootout. Please let it be a good race.

Really did not do much this weekend. It was cold and windy. I did a little leaf blowing and raking Saturday morning and then the usual house chores.

I expect another insanely busy work week. Uggh. I need more money and we need more help.

Daytona will be starting this week. Bud Shootout is Saturday.

I need some shade flowers for the yard. Ideas?

20 and windy this morning. Summer is hanging out outside laying in the sun. She comes in for a drink of water and then stands at the door to go back outside. Have at it.

Dog hair and dust. The evil twins.

Going to do taxes. Going to see if being a home owner really gives me a bigger refund.
A decent refund would help pay off some bills and let me start to work on a house renovation budget. I need to get the whole downstairs repainted. I actually prefer that the dining room gets wall papered.

My cable/internet bill is $130.00 a month. Insanely expensive.

I need to start looking a another vehicle. Mine is at 180,000. It still runs well but at that mileage one never knows.

Time to do some chores.

So the gov't and the 5 major banksters agreed to a $25 billion dollar fine to fix the mortgage mess they created. That works out to a max of $2000.00 per eligible homeowner.
How is that going to help? Oh wait, it is not going to help. No bankers going to jail. Watch who they donate to this election year.

When is the day that Greece comes apart at the seams? It looks to be getting close.

My leg is coming along quite well. Not using the brace when I am in the house and all seems ok. A little stiff but other than that I like the progress.

Outside of the usual weekend chores I want to leaf blow a little.

I also want to sand and begin to paint a table this weekend. I think I am going to paint the bottom white and paint the top black. The black will be using chalkboard paint. I think it will be pretty cool.

I should take Summer for a little walk. Very little, with my brace on.

Rocky Top Phishing

I do not think I have posted any Phish before. Thought this would be a good start.

It looks like France is out of the picture for this summer. They have not started renovations yet and they have not even picked out a contractor. Since they are making two apartments into one home it will take several months. Still a chance but I am going to start to look at other plans for this summer and France next summer.

Going to start some seeds this weekend and maybe work a little outside. Do some leaf blowing and rake some and toss some grass seed around.



Well this movie is going to piss some people off.

Well the Super Bowl was really not a great game. I think both teams did not play that well for the most part. Congrats to the Giants who seem to have the Pats figured out.

Egypt is going to put 19 Americans who work for NGO's on trial. Good job Egypt. Nice to see your country falling apart after last spring.

Time to get some seed starting going. Have healthy plants when they get transplanted.

My parents will be here on their way too Florida. It is the weekend of the Daytona 500.That will be cool.

Well today is America's couch sitting day. Watching football related tv up until 6 p.m. and then the pre-game festivities before the kickoff. I expect a great game and hope the Pats win.

Time for a shower and then off to the couch and stuff my face with food.

Swelling has gone down and it seems to be related to getting my blood pressure meds refilled and back on those again.

Have to put together a letter to my bosses asking fora raise. After two years it is time for one. going to ask for a decent increase or give them an option of a smaller increase and 10 additional paid days off which would bring me to 20 days vacation.
