Whatever

Very very early Replacements video. Just plain good rock n roll.

Where does Tim Tebow go?

Have you been paying attention to what is going on at Gitmo. Now over 100 of the 166 prisoners are on a hunger strike. Did you know that 86 have been cleared for release and are still being held.

Lots of rain here Sunday and Sunday night. No flooding. Plants and flowers should start to go wild.

My dad needs to have surgery on his meniscus and one of the things they say mom needs is to have her gall bladder out. They are so thrilled.

Happy Friday

Looks like a good day not to be working.

Outside of going to the chiropractor the rest of the day will be spent screwing around doing chores and doing nothing.

Two of the kittens from a few months ago having been hanging around again.
Very skittish and always meowing.

Watching all the ex-presidents at W's library yesterday was interesting. George 1 is looking like an old man. He and President Carter are the same age. Hard to believe.

Why no news stories about the people injured in the Texas explosion. Seems like people do not care. Very odd. Wonder why "terrorists" seek soft targets.

Dirty Wars

This should be the movie of the year.

Went to a chiropractor on Monday. Going again Friday. Amazing how your body can crack and bend.

Big flea market in Liberty Saturday. Going to have a yard sale here in a week. Clean out some junk and pocket some cash.

Two of the "kittens" have been back for the last two days. Summer is less than pleased. Going to give them some milk. Bye.

View

Why is it that the 14 people killed and 200 injured are getting so little coverage.
Is what happened in West, Texas any less of a tragedy than what happened in Boston? Have we created so much fear around terrorism. The terrorist in Boston is corporate American where you can store 1300 times legal amount of fertilizer and get away with it. Remember it is our elected leaders than wrote laws for these companies that has allowed them not to be inspected since 1985.

Remember more people die from workplace injuries every year than die from terrorist attacks. Far more. Do we spend anywhere near the money fixing that.
We would rather write laws loosening regulations because corporations will always obey laws for the good of the people.

Wow wow wow

Just plain crazy and insane. How the hell else can you describe the events from Thursday night through last night. Between listening to the police scanner for Boston PD, Watertown PD, twitter and tv reports I felt like a junky on an information high.

It will be very interesting to seem where this case leads and how this case came to be. It seems that the surviving brother does not fit the mold of what the country thinks of as a terrorist. How these brothers evolved into what they are alleged to have done will be very interesting.

What I found interesting was the willingness of all the people in that area to accept the order to stay in place and not leave their home based on the fact that one man was still at large. What would have happened if you just went out and got in your car and headed out to wherever? Seems like martial law would be very east to impose on the American society.

Rome, here we come

Once the religious, the hunted and weary
Chasing the promise of freedom and hope
Came to this country to build a new vision
Far from the reaches of Kingdom and pope

Like good Christians some would burn the witches
Later some got slaves to gather riches

But still from near and far to seek America
They came by thousands, to court the wild
But she just patiently smiled and bore a child
To be their spirit and guiding light

And once the ties with the crown had been broken
Westward in saddle and wagon it went
And till the railroad linked ocean to ocean
Many the lives which had come to an end

While we bullied, stole and bought a homeland
We began the slaughter of the red man

But still from near and far to seek America
They came by thousands to court the wild
But she just patiently smiled and bore a child
To be their spirit and guiding light

The Blue and Grey they stomped it
They kicked it just like a dog
And when the war was over
They stuffed it just like a hog

And though the past has its share of injustice
Kind was the spirit in many a way
But its protectors and friends have been sleeping
Now it's a monster and will not obey

The spirit was freedom and justice
And its keepers seemed generous and kind
Its leaders were supposed to serve the country
But now they won't pay it no mind
Cause the people grew fat and got lazy
Now their vote is a meaningless joke
They babble about law and order
But it's all just an echo of what they've been told

Yeah, there's a monster on the loose
It's got our heads into the noose
And it just sits there watchin'

The cities have turned into jungles
And corruption is stranglin' the land
The police force is watching the people
And the people just can't understand
We don't know how to mind our own business
'Cause the whole world's got to be just like us
Now we are fighting a war over there
No matter who's the winner we can't pay the cost

'Cause there's a monster on the loose
It's got our heads into the noose
And it just sits there watchin'

America, where are you now
Don't you care about your sons and daughters
Don't you know we need you now
We can't fight alone against the monster

America, where are you now
Don't you care about your sons and daughters
Don't you know we need you now
We can't fight alone against the monster

Dear XTC

This song should be pushed back up the charts again.

It is interesting that as Americans we will the deaths of people killed by a "terrorist" incident far more than the 10,000 people murdered by guns and the 20,000 who commit suicide by guns.

All the press given to the Boston bombing would make you think this is a rare event. While rare in the  U.S. people in many parts of the world live with this being an everyday reality. Often the bombs are from America and are provided by our military.

Have you looked or read about the immigration bill. There is no way the bill will be followed by immigrants. We need to get over the fact that they are here and work to welcome them into our nation with open arms. They are not going anywhere regardless of what laws we pass.

Peace for pollen.

Oh yeah, new video is installed.

Some days are diamonds, some days are stone

As we remember and try to understand the events in Boston yesterday we need to understand that many parts of the world live with events like this everyday.

It's about time we start to recognize that we are all human beings and stop hating someone who has a different god, language, skin color or a whole host of thing than you do. We are all humans and until we start to recognize that fact events like this will happen and perpetuate more events like this.

Thursday's update for the thinking person

Things are not as they seem.

That was easy

Tyrone Power's daughter and her husband.

Well UConn had an easy time against Louisville last night. Really not much of a challenge at all. Geno has tied Pat Summit at eight national championships. More to come. Congratulations.

Two months worth of drugs for Summer, $321.00. Bleeding money.

Saw bits and pieces of Frontline last night. It was an amazing look at the war in Syria. Very sad. Syria looks like a beautiful country. Why is the world letting this happen?

Should the mayor of Greensboro, who is 10.8 million dollars in debt, really be the mayor.

There some interesting tidbits from Henry Kissinger in the new Wikileaks release. He really is not a nice man.

Hater

Maggie Thatcher called Nelson Mandela a terrorist and supported apartheid in South Africa.
She hated unions and the common working person. Her PR people studied American politics and how they used image making in the press to help foster a good image so she would seem less cold. Looks like it worked for the most part.

It cost me $145.00 to fill both trucks with gas. Ouch.

The democratic mayor of Greensboro just filed bankruptcy. His child support and alimony is $13,000 a month. He seems like a crook. The leadership in Greensboro is absolutely horrible. They all seem like crooks.

Background checks do work. I have seen it in action.

it's here

Nice game by UConn taking down Notre Dame. A tea m that nobody expected to do well could win the National Championship. Well done.

Planted a bunch of perennials yesterday. More to go to fill in the area. Need some type of perennial grass that blooms as well.

Seems winter is over, finally.

Sorry, that is it for this morning.

Just do it

52% of Americans now call for legalization of marijuana. Just legalize. Time to stop the sad waste of lives that end up in prison for a stupid law.

Has been another brutal week at work Mentally draining.

Looks like a great weather weekend. Think I'll do all my chores Saturday and go for a nice ride on Sunday.

The vet has found a new drug for Summer. She starts next week.

Goodbye Roger Ebert. You and Gene were great. Saw many movies based on your reviews I would have never seen. Thank you.

Old, cranky and weird

So today I am now 50 years old. What does it mean, who knows?  Mentally still a kid, physically old on many days. Seems odd how the brain and body are so different in the way they react to age. Time to start life all over again. Anybody got a binky?

So mom is still sick and on vacation. Three weeks of vacation and sick the whole time. Still no idea what is wrong.

Maybe Uconn woman vs Tenn in the final four.

Time for a couple eggs and toast for breakfast.
