Up a notch
New Son Volt.
It seems that we and the North Korean leadership are both intent on kicking up the war talk a notch or two everyday now. Maybe the U.S. needs to back off on doing things that the North Koreans think is testing them. Since the leadership seems so unstable in NK anything may set off a real and deadly confrontation.
No dam war people. Wake up.
Looks like a wet Easter weekend.
Cool t little video.

War time Thursday
He's right.
So mom still does not feel great and they still are not sure why she is sick.
Maybe this weekend I'll get some plants for the garden. I think the freezing weather is past.
Gonna start putting things on Ebay again. Time to make some money on some things I have.
More people have died from gun deaths since Newtown than soldiers that have in in Afghanistan since that war started. Yup no problem with guns here.

It's Time
Hopefully the Supreme Court will give some indication that we are moving forward today.
It is time for our Puritan relatives to wake the hell up and see we do not need YOUR God telling the rest of America what to do.

monday again
Well I did not anything in Powerball so it is off to work today.
Crappy weather weekend. Bit off sun Saturday afternoon but yesterday was a total washout. Lots and lots of rain. Did mess around in the shed and cleaned up the toolbox and cleaned a couple of old pocket knives.
So my parents are in Florida and my mom has been sick the whole week they have been there. She is now in the hospital. She went in yesterday. They think she has pneumonia and there is a spot on her lung they think is related to the pneumonia. They also think she has some kind of kidney infection. Lots of tests. Some results today. The last year for them has been a real nightmare. More on the last year soon.
Cold today, possible flurries tonight. A year ago we where in the upper 70's and low 80's.
I saw Jim Carroll do a poetry reading several years ago. Very funny. Jim died.

Wow
West Virginia paper’s anti-LGBT column wants death for ‘n*ggers, spics, kikes and wops’ (via Raw Story )
A newspaper in West Virginia is defending its decision to publish a reader’s racist and homophobic comments, which called for “queers” to be put to death along with “n*ggers, spics, kikes and wops.” WCHS-TV reported on Wednesday that the Lincoln Journal had come under fire for printing a…

Bullshit
Gitmo costs an estimated $177 million dollars a year for less than 100 inmates. We are planning a $150 million renovation for Gitmo. Most of them are not guilty but we do not want to let them go because we are afraid them will go and fight against us someplace and we can not send them home because they may be tortured. Great policy and use of tax dollars.
Powerball is now up to $320 million.
Harry Reems is dead.
Temps below 50 for the next several days.
Fuck you CVS. Making employees tell you their weight and body fat or be fined $600. How bout they stop selling cigarettes and alcohol. Eat shit motherfuckers.
I need some toast. Later.

10 years
A great song about needless death. Maybe George Bush should have listened to this song 10 years ago before he sent soldiers into Iraq. What have we accomplished in that ill advised war? Thousands of dead soldiers, single parents, kids with no mom or dad. Tens of thousands of Iraqi dead, an Iraqi civil war, more terrorism. A collapsed American economy. More dependence on the military industrial complex.
A complete total failure of U.S. foreign policy of epic proportions that will have effects on American generations for years to come.
If we, The United States of America, want to viewed as world leaders we need to review what we are doing. We are being viewed by other peoples of the world more than ever before and they do not like what they see. We are inviting another 9/11 and the next time there just may be a government sanctioned attack by someone we are killing today.

Rusty
Feel a little rusty this morning.. Hopefully a warm shower will oil my joints.
So Saturday was a lovely day. Close to 80 degrees and fairly sunny. Refinished a bureau and a mirror and was outside most of the day. Yesterday the high was 60 at midnight and got colder and windier as the day went along. Rain sometime today.
I pulled my savings from my Cyprus bank this morning. You should as well. Keep it under your frozen food.
Summer now has a limp to along with her cough. When she first wakes up its a long nasty cough and a slow limp to the breakfast bowl.
So we have a new antique shop in town. The bakery close, really a fair baking anyhow. The hardware store that is not open on Saturdays is closing and the restaurant is not for sale anymore. Still no word on the grocery store moving in the closed grocery store space.
Spring?

Pope n Roll
Rock n Roll's Pope.
Glad a new Pope was finally picked. Now the world news can move on to something the rest of us care about. Really the news coverage was a bit much if you put it into context of real world affairs.
This will be the story that will make some traction about the new Pope. The Dirty War.

We are doing three times the business at work compared to when I started. We have the same amount of people processing that business.
Interesting story on internet privacy.

No war Wednesday
http://www.truthdig.com/arts_culture/item/kill_anything_that_moves_20130312/
Someone in North Korea seems bent on war. Hard to know who is leading this latest march. Not everyone responds to pressure from other countries the same way. They could easily hit S. Korea before they could even react. Maybe its time to change some tactics and do some real negotiating.

WTF
So Summer was panting like a madman last. So loud that I closed the bedroom door so I could get to sleep.
She must have been pissed. When I got up she got up went into the dining room and took a crap instead of walking over to the door and waiting for me to let me out. Thanks. I love the smell of dog poo in the morning. Goes well with coffee.

monday morning pickin
Of of Jim's fine song. One of many finely crafted stories.
Busy weekend at the homestead.
Raked leaves, mowed the back yard and took everything out of the screened porch washed off dirt and grime and put the porch back together again.
Summer is shedding like crazy. Combed a dog's worth of hair from her and still have a lot of hair that could come off.
North Korea is talking a whole bunch of trash. The more pressure we put on them the worse their rhetoric gets. What's gonna cause somebody to give?
Pick a Pope soon. I have heard enough of the story already.
The weekend is only 40 hours away.

Spring
Spring forward this weekend. It will be nice to have some real daylight when I get home from work.
A little yard work to get the garden ready and plant some flowers. Thrown down some grass seed.
Work is insanely busy. Need some vacation time.
I think there are some yard sales this weekend. First of the spring.
Have a sunny weekend.

People
Hank Jr's daughter. Family genes.
Goodbye Hugo. You left a very muddled legacy for your country. You did help the poor at home and in many other places but left much chaos as well.
My bosses husbands ALS is progressing at a very rapid rate. Very horrible way to die.
Ken check out Gardens and Gun @gardenandgun.com it is a very good magazine/website about the south,
The White House has canceled the White House tours during the sequester. What a big load of crap. How low can the President sink in this debate? What an asshole.
Think I may have a yard sale at the end of the month. Come on over.

OH MY GOD............................
Are we still here?
Are we tumbling over the cliff yet?
Dogs and cats having sex with each other?
This is only one penny out of every federal dollar. Maybe we just cut the whole F-35 program, now.
If we are still here tomorrow have a good weekend.
