Chaos

Abortion fight in Texas, very odd rulings from the Supreme Court, Edward Snowden, protests on Brazil and Greece and economic chaos in the U.S.

Yup, times are good.

Insanely heavy rains yesterday. Flash flooding in places around here.

Shower time.

monday

The Edward Snowden story keeps on getting crazier by the day. One thing you need to do is stop listening to the outrage being expressed my many and listen to the story. Funny how they keep making a big deal about his passport being revoked. Like that is really an issue. Countries always break that rule including the United States.

Nik Wallenda your walk was crazy. Not something I plan on doing, ever.

Had to buy a new receiver yesterday. My old Yamaha blew a channel. Of course most people would have got rid of it years ago after the led display burned out.

I bought a Denon AVR-1513. Considered a low end, price wise, receiver these days.

Down to 248 pounds.

Watch Game of Thrones. Good series.

Weday

Have you noticed that the ads are getting longer on  youtube?

1 in 9 bridges in America are unsafe. When do we start to fix them?

Going to take the truck to Carmax today and see what they think it is worth.

Have you seen the protests in Brazil?

When will that happen here?

Looks like a lovely day today. Finally no  rain.

Summer solstice is coming.

Cool

This is a pretty cool home. Keeps your life much more simple.

Obama's approval ratings are taking a big hit. Seems that people really do not like all the spying that is going on. Media would have you think otherwise.

Sorry that is it. Things are quiet these days.

Doc

Going to a cardiologist today. Have lost 13 lbs in the last 5 weeks. Have cut out meat for the most part. No fried food. Fresh fruit smoothie for breakfast. More veggies for dinner.

The crazy storms that hit yesterday missed me. They were all around.

Outside of some cleaning no real plans for this weekend.

Nothing else to say. Life is slow.

Halfway to Friday

Good to see the leaders in Turkey are such good friends of democracy.

Sending some pictures to Autumn to put in her shop.

Nothing else this morning. Having a brain drain.

92 here today.

Wow, the spying debacle has opened up a storm of confusion.
Amazing how many Americans think it is perfectly fine that we are spied on.
Guess they are the folks who do not pay attention to history.
It is not ok for the government to spy on everyone and everything and if you think they are not doing that you are fooling yourself.

Nice how the media wants to vilify Snowden and dems now see all the spying as fine. Brainwashed by Obama. Fools.

Going to head over to Chapel Hill and see what pictures I can find.

Also going to wash the truck today and vac and mop the floor. House smells like dog. A little swavitell and the smell will be gone.

Andrea was nothing here.

The start of something below.

The photograph told me, there was a time and a reason.

Lost 10 lbs since 5-15-13. 50 to go.

Fuck you American government you Stasi bastards

Be very afraid of your government. The spying we know about is only a small fraction of spying we do not know about.

What is next?

It is not ok to do all this in the name of terrorism. We are building a country of spineless bastards who will be afraid of there neighbors. Nice to know we are building towards a dictatorship in the name of freedom.

Hey NSA "FUCK YOU, YOU EVIL BASTARDS".

New doc

Going to see my new doctor today.

Been drinking protein drinks for breakfast the last few days. Fresh strawberries with almond and coconut milk, whey protein. They taste very good. The long weight lose battle has begun. Salads for dinner or lunch.

Looks like I nned to put new washers in the bathtub faucets. They are leaking like a sieve.

Thinking about trading the truck for a Mini Cooper.

Won $4 in lotto. Can't retire.

Time for a smoothie.

Check out moral Monday protests in NC. They are getting bigger.

He ain't heavy, he's my brother..........................

Paul Pelletier September 12th 1962 to May 31st 2013.

Paul died yesterday at the age of 50 and broke a piece of my heart.

There are people you meet in life that become friend, family and foe. That was Paul. I meet him in the mid 80's when he living in Orlando. Paul and Mike had been friends through their high school years and somehow Paul ended up in Orlando, where Mike was going to UCF, after spending some time at Penn State. By the end of the 80's all of us were living in Ct. Mike and I were living in Cheshire and Paul in Bristol right across the street from ESPN. He used to go out at night and drive golf balls into ESPN's satellite dishes.

We drank lots and lots and lots of Jack Daniels, every day. It was just a little insane.

It was in those years that Paul and I started going to Key West and I eventually lost count of how many times we went. It always felt like we were going home when we went and was depressing when we left.

The last time we were in Key West, with Jeff, Paul became an ordained minister on the internet so he could marry an English couple who was staying at the same place we were. He didn't marry them.

Paul had many missteps through the years and moved back to Ct. for a while, then to Arizona and finally back to Ct. and moved back in with his Mom and stepfather.

During those years Paul and I went to Vegas and out to the Grand Canyon, Brice Canyon and Zion National Park That was a great vacation as we got to see many wild and varied parts of the country.

We also went out to California and saw the redwoods, Crater Lake and awesome stretches of the California/Oregon coast.

There several stretches through the years were Paul lived with me for extended periods of time. Some for better, some for worse.

With Paul living in Ct. and me in Florida and now NC we did not get to see each other much over the last 4 or 5 years. A couple hours here and there. We did have periodic very long talks on the phone.

As we all got older and changed the one thing with Paul that never changed was his love/hate for alcohol. To watch someone you love struggle, fight and live as an alcoholic is thoroughly depressing. Family , friends, jobs and so many other things get tested.

Paul had many demons and in the end he could not outrun them.

We had 26 years as best of family, friend and foe. We deserved at least 26 more.

I miss you already.

Picture taken on a bridge over the Colorado River somewhere between the north and south rim of the Grand Canyon in September 2005.

The song is dedicated to Paul. It was his favorite song and it was a song to be played in Key West.
