Lazy Weekend

I did not end up going out shooting pictures Saturday. It was raining down where I wanted to go shooting. I like to get out early this time of year so it is not so hot. I ended up mowing the lawn, vacuuming and going grocery shopping.
Sunday I did nothing really. I did discover the hot water heater is leaking. So now the landlord needs to replace that and fix a leaking near one of the windows in the office. That has been fixed before. They replaced wood and patched. The problem does not want to go away.
The only pictures I took are of some books that I am going to put on Ebay. Hope to make a couple extra dollars. We shall see what happens.
Vacation starts Thursday. Hell ya. I need to get away.
This little boat was down in Sarasota. Took this about 2 months ago

Roadtrip

This is now closed. Its is on U.S. 19 in Sarasota, Florida. There a bunch of cool places to shoot along this stretch of road. Maybe I'll head down that way early tomorrow morning. Weather permitting.

Crazy World

Somebody bought the crypt above Marilyn Monroe for 4.6 million dollars. Does that seem odd too you?

Green Bay, Wisconsin just hired its first black police officer. That seems a little odd.

The picture above was taken in the Key West cemetery. Amazing that there was an African American police officer in the south in the late 1890's - early 1900's. Frank E. Adams is buried in the regular section of the cemetery. The cemetery has many segregated sections.

Off to work. Nothing more to write.

Ray LaMontagne Jolene Trouble

Ray LaMontagne is one of the best singer-songwriters in the world today. The combination of his lyrics and powerful voice make you feel the song. A rare talent in the crappy world of music today.

Lonely is the Head

He seems so detached with his head on a pole, yet Whiteman found the world to be a glorious place. Well most of the time. He came to hate the pigeons that would make his helmet a resting place. The deposits they left would not be accepted by the bank and this truly annoyed him.

Whiteman had not started out life as a head on a pole. He had spent many years with a group of close knit friends in a display window at Suttons Hat & Tie Palace on Koening Ave. That was back in the days when gentlemen dressed in their finest all the time. Sadly for Whiteman all his friends had gone the way of the dress hat.

Through some twist of fate, be it cruel or not, the choice is yours, Whiteman had been saved from the pile of heads that his friends had been dumped in. For many years Whiteman sat alone and sad in the empty, dusty and spiderweb filled window of his former employer. Through his eyes he saw his once lovely view of the Koening Ave. descend into a street of crime and grime.
This was something his friends had talked about, for many of them had traveled from distant lands before they came to Suttons.

I love it

This is great. I wish more politicians would tell people off like this. Barney is not one to keep his mouth shut.

Her dumb poster that Barney refers to is being put out by Lyndon Ladouche, I mean LaRouche. Now there is somebody with tons of credibility.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyndon_LaRouche

Really now it is time to step on the necks of these racists assholes. So much of this debate is being driven by race baiting morons. All the crap they are spreading is nothing more than a thin veiled form of racism. Pay attention to what is going on at these town halls and protests. Looks at the signs and listen to what they are saying and you will see that I am right.

I think we are in deep trouble here. Pray to whoever you pray to, we need it.

Whats going on?

Well lets see here. Oh yeah the President has caved in to the right wing zealots who many, I believe, are actually bigots and fear mongers. Without the public option what the hell is the point of healthcare reform. You should know damm well the insurance and drug business sure hope you lose. You are doing a poor job on this.

Well it is good the NFL season is just getting its games started. That means Sundays at the Hut for beers, food and football.

I wonder why all these people are so upset about Michael Vick yet they are not saying that much if anything about Donte Stallworth. He drives drunk and kills a man. He only does 30 days in jail. I hear no outrage. He pays the mans family millions of dollars. Basically I say a bribe to make them go away. I hear no outrage. 30 days for killing a man while driving drunk. For most of us that is many many years in prison. Why are people not making a big deal about this?

Goodbye Les Paul. you have made the world a much more rocking place.

Picture of the Day

This is the Underwood Motel on route 301 just north of Starke, Florida. This place is one of my favorite signs to shoot.

Cool TV shows

There is an abundance of crap on television as we all know. There are very few series with superb writing and acting. There are two shows that are far and away some of the best if not the best in many years.

They are "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad". These shows are more like what you get from HBO or Showtime. They are very well done. Just watch them a couple times and you will see what I mean.

I also wish that cable companies would let us pick all of our channels. I want many I are not offered and have many more that are total crap. I would like to have Al Jazeera and the CBC.
These are great networks and give us views from another perspective. There more I want and I would gladly trade in my shopping and god channels.
